Things Only a Vendor Would Understand
You spend days getting ready for a market. Packing the car like a game of Tetris. Double-checking your float. Making sure every bracelet, candle & work of art is exactly where it should be. Then the first customer of the day walks up. They pick something up. Look at it carefully. Turn it over in their hands. And then say… “I could probably make this myself.” Meanwhile, you’re standing there thinking about the hours of work, the materials, the practice and the late nights that went into learning how to make that one piece. ⭐Things only a vendor would understand. What’s something a customer has said to you at a market that made you smile … or made you want to laugh later? Let’s hear it.

I haven't really had anything like that happen, mostly because I haven't done many shows/events.

@Lisa Graham I don't doubt it. I just hope I can keep my sarcasm in check...
I need a better transfer tape...
So I tend to use my Scan N Cut (Cricut-type machine) mostly for cutting vinyl stencils. The problem I have is that my current transfer tape is way too sticky, which is making placing my stencils a LOT harder because the stencil vinyl is nowhere near as tacky/adhesive as the transfer tape. Does nyone that uses a Cricut or other brand vinyl cutter have any suggestions on an off-brand super low tack transfer tape that comes on a 12-inch wide roll? Rolls are preferred because my mats are either 12x12 inches or 12x24 inches... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@Jade Cherman thank you thank you. I'll reach out. I'm hoping they have permanent vinyl for auto decals in a 12 inch wide roll too
Show & Tell Saturday
It’s Saturday, which means it’s time for a little Show & Tell. What have you been working on lately? Maybe you finished a new product. Maybe you’re experimenting with a new display idea. Maybe you’re testing something for the upcoming market season. Whatever it is, I’d love to see it. Drop a photo in the comments and tell us a little about what you’re making or preparing right now. Finished pieces, works in progress, messy worktables… it all counts. Sometimes the most interesting ideas come from seeing what other vendors and hosts are working on behind the scenes. Your turn. What are you creating this week? I finally found a true-blue Sandalwood fragrance oil!! I've been searching for years...and now I'm sorted. So yesterday, I made these wax melts. They smell divine!! (This is just a quick photo I took this morning, so I apologise for the blurry look)

I've been transferring data and software from the old PC to the new video workstation. Not really anything to take pictures of...

@Lisa Graham by "trade and training" I'm actually a retired professional Nerd. Spent the better part of 30 years working with computers. I've been online since the internet was available in any 2 colors... black and white, black and green, black and blue, any two you wanted as long as one was black....
Pricing
Lisa posted something the other day about upping her prices, which she absolutely should do. I had an interesting discussion with a friend of mine who is an amazing artisan. When I asked her the cost of making something that I would buy from her wholesale and then sell to my clients, she quoted me what seemed very high. So unfortunately, I won't be able to refer her. And her answer was that the client could just get it mass produced if they didn't want to pay what she considered worth her time and materials. So, maybe I'm not a great entrepreneur but I'd rather be selling then waiting to sell for high prices, because, #1 - I'm selling! And #2 - I always see the big picture. A client might buy what isn't a big ticket item, but if they love it they'll come back. I've been making stickers (and a few other things) for a year now and I'm at that point where I'm getting referrals. What do you guys feel? Is it best to hold out and not make a sale, or to open a door with a lower price knowing that you are building relations which will build your business? Thanks!

@Lisa Graham I figured I can do the canister, with 1 insert and 3 refills. I'm trying to get a price range between $15 and $18...

Getting Started
If you’re new here, hiya gorgeous & welcome .. I’m really glad you found us! This community has two main parts: the Classrooms and the Community space. Each one serves a different purpose and together they make this a really useful place to learn and connect. 👉🏼Start with the Classrooms The classrooms are where you’ll find the structured learning. Think of them as a growing library of lessons, guides and practical tools you can use in your craft market journey. Some lessons include worksheets, checklists or simple systems you can download and use right away. You don’t have to go through everything in order. Just start with whatever feels most helpful for you right now. Many members treat the classrooms like a reference library, they can come back to anytime they need support. 👉🏼Join the Community The community section is where we talk about everything craft markets. This is where you can ask questions, share experiences, post photos of your setup or products and learn from other vendors and hosts who are figuring things out just like you. ✨The more people participate, the more helpful the community becomes for everyone. 👉🏼An Easy Way to Start If you’re not sure where to begin, here’s a simple way to get started. First, click on the Classrooms and look through the lessons. Just pick one that looks interesting to you and give it a read. Next, visit the Community area. This is where everyone talks, asks questions, and shares ideas. You can say hello, ask something you’ve been wondering about, or just read what other people are posting. That’s it. You don’t have to do everything right away. Just start with one lesson and one conversation. Over time, you’ll naturally explore more. L. ❤️🙏🏼
