Promoted and Pathway shift
I got a big promotion at work which has led to a nice payrise (I stepped up and took action which led to it) and now a new pathway for a goal i’d like to achieve (Strong financial freedom by age 30) has revealed itself through consultancy , i am happy but also neutral because i have never had less doubt that my financial success is inevitable, the only thing that could stop me is by me straying out of alignment with the path I was always questioning how do i start a business what skill do i need to learn but by me stepping up and challenging myself those questions got answers. So now the mission is just accrue knowledge, mess up , learn and apply I feel very liberated and if i had to use an analogy i just feel like i am floating in the sea , the current will take me where i need.

@Cameron Walton If it helps, for me it feels just like complete detachment to the outcome , in my mind it’s done . Like when you’re rewatching a movie you know a certain scene is coming up all you have to do is wait for other scenes to set it up

Diet advice
wondering if it’s healthy as well as cheap to literally just eat like mince and rice plus a few other foods to keep costs low while also hitting calories and protein while at uni and on a small budget. Let me know please thanks a lot

Get blueberries, black and raspberries they contain a ton of vitamins as well as fibre and antioxidants Fermented foods such as greek yoghurt, kefir , kimchi Peppers too, mixed peppers should be cheap and offer fibre nutrients , peppers will work with the mince well there’s a ton more that’s just quickly off the dome, someone else asked me im creating a doc at some point detailing key things so i’ll be happy to share here and also like Cameron said , food and sleep should be our main priority and besides rent etc food/nutrition should be the priority expense

If you can find a place to get cheap eggs too ofc they’re natures multivitamin but i believe you need around 4 a day , id recommend downloading an app called Cronometer too you can mess around making dishes and it tells you the full macro and micro nutrient breakdown
Perfectionism
Something I hear from a lot of you is that you see some potential version of yourself that you are competing with, like the current output you are producing is not as good as it could be, or that you are not quite there yet. This reframes self-improvement from building, to repairing, and convinces you that you are broken and the work you are doing is to get to some mysterious place that you are 'supposed' to be. This is perfectionism, and there are a lot of types, but fundamentally its linked to higher stress, shorter life, and worse relationship outcomes. If you find that you speak to yourself in a way that you would not encourage someone you were responsible for looking after, rethink the motivation for your self-improvement. We are here to accept what we have now as as the perfect starting point. The present is by definition the best you could have done, because there is no alternate reality in which you did better. Once you accept that what you have is ok and doesn't need to be 'fixed', you can feel free to build as high as you can just for fun.

@Isaac Igbo gotta say it 10 times bro 😂
Why do you do it?
Most people here are united by some desire for self-improvement by some metric, but how many people know why they are doing it. Whats your reasoning for what you are doing and what drives you to do it. I don’t think its possible to make real progress without something deeper underneath, and figuring that thing out will catapult everything else forward

@Cameron Walton exactly , like it’s easy to spend 6 hours grinding to unlock something so im making sure the grind unlocks something ‘real’ , not just some pixels . See some unique / beautiful views for my boy too I’ll get some adventure in my life hiking so i can see the view but also in my mind share it with him and an extension my answer why i’ll do all this? For my future wife and kids , be extra ordinary so their life isn’t ordinary
Grief
I lost my dog on Friday, it’s weird experiencing grief. It’s not something mindset / mentality or whatever can ‘fix’ . Just something you have to accept and firm . Has me thinking of Cameron’s videos as you always reference cave men etc so it’s weird right now losing a member of the pack There’s no shadow to integrate or root to fix just have to be strong . One more thing though it helps with motivation, i should do things to honour him. So i guess final point is even in the darkest of places always try find light

@Ewa Dabrowska Thank you i appreciate it, yeah it’s been very tough but a big big wake up call as to how limited life can be and how rapidly things can shift. Definitely flipped my whole perspective and want to take time to appreciate what i consider ‘normal’ in my routine like family , loved ones etc
