🎤 Artists, what usually blocks you from finishing a song?
Is it: 🎵 Too many ideas? ✍️ Getting stuck on lyrics? 🎚️ The arrangement not flowing right? 🎧 Mixing feels overwhelming? I’ve found that most artists hit the same walls at different points. Curious to hear yours, let’s talk real life creative struggles 👇

What’s Stopping You from Turning Your Song Idea into Reality?
Do you have a great song idea in your head that you've never been able to bring to life? What’s stopping you?

Hi Daniel John, welcome 👋
Ear Sweat when performing
Florida gets hot! While performing I get sweat inside my ears (sounds like I'm under water). Got any ideas on how to stop this from happening? (Tried alcohol solutions, keep Q-tips on hand, got a squeeze ball evacuator). It's a real show stopper for me.

That sounds frustrating. You might try wearing sweat wicking headbands or in ear monitor covers to block sweat from entering your ears, and some performers also use ear drying drops post performance to keep things clear without overusing Q-tips.
Don't make my mistake - I was forcing my high notes for MONTHS 😓
Hey everyone! Just had to share this because I wish someone had told me earlier... I spent the last 6 months trying to "push through" my vocal strain by just practicing MORE. Every time I hit a voice break around C4, I'd just try harder with more breath support. Total disaster. My neck muscles were bulging, my throat felt squeezed, and I was getting hoarse after 20 minutes of practice. I thought this was just "building stamina" 🤦‍♂️ Turns out I was using my swallowing muscles (those ones under your chin) to compensate for weak vocal cord closure. Anyone else struggle with this? What was your biggest "aha moment" when you realized you were doing something totally wrong?

Totally get this. I went through the same thing until I learned that straining and pushing more air only causes tension; what really helped me was focusing on breath control, relaxing my neck, strengthening vocal cord closure with lip trills and straw exercises, and training my mix voice to avoid forcing chest voice into higher notes.
