Who Remembers Fancy Friday?
I started something called Fancy Friday back in lockdown days. The reasons were: 1) nobody had anywhere to go and stopped dressing up. The effects of this are real six years later! Many of my clients forgot how to dress well. So I encouraged people to wear the good clothes on Fridays. 2) staying in sweats all day, every day was affecting people’s mental health. Dressing up boosted confidence and wellbeing. 3) it didn’t have to be about clothes, it was simply doing anything for that feel good factor, like treating yourself to a delicious home cooked meal, going for that hike you promised yourself etc. Should we bring back Fancy Friday?

It is good to have a change. I work a lot from home and have been forcing myself to wear real clothes!

On a scale of 1 to 10 ( 1 being extremely dissatisfied, 10 extremely satisfied) how would you rate what you’re wearing today and how it’s making you feel? Answers below. No explanation needed, just self reflection 💕

For those of you who love colour analysis…
Hair can be such an important part of how we see ourselves. In my latest video I play around with hair colour! Have you ever dyed your hair the wrong tone without realising it wouldn’t work?

Great video. My hair is bright strawberry blonde (well now faded to mostly blonde at 48) and I once tried to dye it a sort of darker red auburn and it just looked brown. It really looked terrible because it wasn't bright. Just looked dull against my skin. Similarly now that it's so light I don't actually think it looks great, but it is natural and the greys look blonde 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think I'm a bright spring. I'm torn between just leaving it or dying it back redder, but it's really hard to get the right shade.
Random thought on change versus anchors over time that I've noted
When i was an older kid and pre-teen, i would get matching Christmas presents with my step sister. The only difference would be that mine would be in a green and blue color scheme and hers would be in a pink and purple scheme. We would ALWAYS swap them to match our preferences, which never seemed to be internalized by others. I am really happy to honor my inner child and the preferences that seem to have subconsciously stuck with me all this time! Shedding the minimal boring sad beige none sense (in my humble opinion) and embracing my life of color and self expression. Saying screw you to feeling ashamed for being feminine and feeling correct in my flowy fabrics and re-embracing ruffles. And there is nothing wrong with a little blue/green, but oh goodness do i love me some pink and purple. This lighting is crap but you get the idea...
