2. Have you ever had a scary experience with an animal? What happened?

@Miko Zhou Good, no corrections! I was bitten by a large dog when I was a girl. I turned my back and he lunged at me. But, we always had pets, of all sorts including dogs, so luckily I wasn't affected enough to fear dogs, thank goodness. 😊

2.Have you ever organized a party or special event before? Yes, I have. About a year after graduating from college, I organized a small gathering for my classmates at my house. I cooked eight dishes by myself, and I still remember some of them clearly — steamed fish, scrambled eggs, roast chicken, and a few homemade side dishes. The eight of us sat around the table, eating and laughing for hours. It’s still one of the most unforgettable memories I have from that period of my life because, from then on, we never really had the chance to get together like that again.

3.What’s the best food you’ve ever had at a party or celebration? The best food I’ve ever had at a celebration was probably a white-cut chicken thigh at my friend’s wedding. Traditional Chinese weddings usually feature a huge banquet, and in my hometown, it’s often held in the family’s ancestral hall. There was a large temporary kitchen outside, and all the chefs were busy preparing dishes there. My friend and I were curious, so we went in to watch them cook. One of the chefs noticed us and suddenly said, “Oh! You’re friends of the bride!” Then he immediately cut me a whole white-cut chicken thigh straight from a freshly cooked chicken. Honestly, it was the most delicious chicken I’d ever had in my life. It was incredibly juicy and tender, I still remember it very clearly.

@Xiayin Jian Sounds delicious! Now I'm hungry! 😄 You pronounced "banquet" like "bouquet" Banquet, which is a large group dinner, is pronounced BAN quit. While, "Bouquet" (which is a floral arrangement meant to be held by the bride at her wedding) is pronounced boo KAY.

@Huishan Lu That's so nice that you do that, I do too, and feel bad for servers who have to deal with unpleasant customers. Stronger T sound (great) Stronger X sound (excellent)

Do you think presentation is just as important as taste when it comes to food?

@Eileen Chen I totally agree, you must be a great cook! It is more common to say, THE food, rather than, THIS food, in your answer. 😊
