Thanks will and great to catch up at the Fabric dojo meetup! I'll do a series of announcement videos over the coming weeks (similar to what I did for fabcon US 6 months ago-https://rishisapra.com/fabcon-2025-key-feature-announcements-unwrapped/). The list I've got of my fab announcements (probably in order) are: 1) Power BI and Fabric MCP servers 2) Fabric Graph 3) Fabric Maps 4) Multitasking when working across multiple items/workspaces 5) Dataflow Gen 2 enhanced performance and capabilities (new output destinations) 6) Shortcut transforms - support for parquet/JSON files and new AI transforms. (include fabric runtime, performance improvements) 7) OneLake Table API for Catalog 8) Full Power BI semantic model creation and editing in service (including downloading from service and DAX UDFs) 9) Eventhouse endpoint and anomaly detection 10)Copilot in Power BI apps I've got snippet recordings on my phone for most of these and happy to talk through them if I can join tomorrow! (and/or offline or here in the community). The Power BI MCP stuff rui covered on the last day was absolutely Insane!! With the right context he was able to get it to build a full semantic model and report with best practices baked in!

Its great that so many features are hitting GA too but I wonder what the real benefit for ppl here really is - it certainly doesn't mean it's fully functional/developed but presume it's better supported and many orgs have restrictions against using preview features?

Introducing: Fabric Capacity Cost Estimator (Public Preview)
It's here!!! The Public Preview of the Fabric Capacity Cost Estimator... πŸ‘‰πŸ”— Try it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-fabric/capacity-estimator This is something that everyone asks, when they are assessing the potential costs of implementing Fabric. To be honest it's almost impossible to get an accurate answer, because it depends on so many variables, but hopefully with this new tool, you can get a very rough ballpark figure, quickly. Give it a go, and let me know your thoughts!

thanks for sharing will! It is a VERY rough estimate and yes the whole separation of PBI licences makes this difficult to bake in but at least we're getting somewhere!
Feature announcements from Fabcon
Hey everyone! I came back from a trip to Seattle/Vegas last week (MVP Summit/Fabcon) and it was great to see so much excitement around Fabric! I managed to record some snippets from the keynote and edited them into a series of videos if it's helpful for anyone! - Fabcon 2025: Key Feature announcements unwrapped! – Rishi Sapra
Public Preview of Managed Private Endpoints for Microsoft Fabric
Microsoft just released (public preview) the ability to create managed private endpoints! Is this something you've been waiting for and are going to be using?! Let me know below Here's some useful links Announcement Documentation What are Managed Private Endpoints? (from the documentation) - Managed private endpoints are private endpoints that workspace admins can create to connect to data sources that are behind a firewall or that are blocked from accessing from the public internet. - Managed private endpoints allow Fabric Spark workloads to securely access data sources without exposing them to the public network or requiring complex network configurations. - The private endpoints provide a secure way to connect and access the data from these data sources through Fabric Spark items such as notebooks and Spark job definitions. - Managed private endpoints are created and managed by Microsoft Fabric, and the user only needs to specify the resource ID of the data source and the target subresource, and provide a justification of their access request for the data source admin who has to approve it. - Managed private endpoints support various data sources, such as Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Cosmos DB, Application gateway, Azure Key Vault, and many more. For more information about supported data sources for managed private endpoints in Fabric, see Supported data sources

I missed this update - thanks will! Tbh I think private endpoints for a SaaS platform are a bit overkill/too restrictive (private link was there for PBI for years and I didn’t see much uptake!). I’d consider it alongside all the functionality you get with Entra ID conditional access - the ability to block or challenge (MFA) logins from devices/locations/group membership etc - seems to be a more robust and modern way of managing access control. (Bear in mind there’s no SQL logins etc for fabric - everything goes through Entra!)
