Solo Full-Time RVing — What It's Really Like
A lot of people assume full-time RV life is a couples thing. It's not. Some of the most experienced and adventurous full-timers out there are doing it solo. THE TRUTH ABOUT SOLO RVing THE FREEDOM IS AMPLIFIED When you're solo, you go where you want, stay as long as you want, and change plans whenever you feel like it. No compromises. No negotiations. That's a powerful thing. THE SAFETY QUESTION Solo RVers, especially women, get asked about safety constantly. The honest answer: RV parks and campgrounds are generally very safe communities. Full-timers look out for each other. Basic awareness, good campground choices, and a security system go a long way. THE SOCIAL SIDE Solo doesn't mean lonely. Many solo full-timers are actually more social on the road than they were at home — because they're actively seeking community rather than defaulting to isolation. Campground neighbors. Rallies. Online groups. The RV community is remarkably welcoming to solos. THE PRACTICAL STUFF — Choose an RV you can manage alone (setup, leveling, hookups) — Know how to do basic maintenance solo — Have a check-in system with someone you trust — Consider roadside assistance as non-negotiable SIZE MATTERS DIFFERENTLY Solo RVers often choose smaller, more maneuverable rigs. A Class B or smaller Class C is easier to handle and park alone than a 40-foot Class A. THE BOTTOM LINE Solo full-time RV life is absolutely doable — and for the right person, it's spectacular. 🚐 If you were going to RV full-time, would you be doing it solo, with a partner, or with family?

As someone living this life solo while managing the daily operations of an RV park in Branson, I think you’ve hit on the most important point: The freedom is amplified, but so is the need for solid systems. When you're the only one handling the hookups, the driving, and the maintenance, you quickly realize that your "infrastructure" is your best friend. I’ve spent 20+ years building platforms and systems, and I’ve applied that same logic to my solo rig. If your staging isn't right, "spectacular" can turn into "overwhelming" pretty fast. From the park management side, I’ve also noticed that solo RVers are often the most connected members of the community. We don't have a "default" person in the passenger seat, so we’re more intentional about seeking out that campfire circle. Being solo isn't just a choice; for me, it's the purest way to build a roadmap to true independence. You learn exactly what you’re capable of when there’s nobody else to lean on. Stay Rugged.
Glad to be here!
Hi Mary! Love the "intentional" philosophy. That six-figure pivot is the dream so many here are chasing. - Where I currently live: I’m living full-time in my rig right here in Branson, Missouri. - Dreaming, planning, or actively preparing? I’m in the "Active Operations" stage. I’m the Operations Director at an RV park here in Branson, so I’m living the life while simultaneously managing the infrastructure for hundreds of other travelers. I’ve spent 20+ years building systems and platforms—from logistics and trucking to high-level operations—and now I’m applying that "system-first" mindset to the RV world. - What excites you most about RV life? The Community and the Freedom. There is a specific kind of "rugged" self-reliance that comes with this life. I love that your home is a tool that enables your lifestyle, not a weight that holds you down. I’m currently focused on developing the roadmaps that lead to true financial freedom while on the road, helping others transition into the nomad life without losing their primary source of security. - What's your biggest question or fear right now? My biggest focus is Scaling the Freedom. For many, RV life becomes a "job" of maintenance and constant troubleshooting. I’m constantly looking for ways to use tech and better systems to move from "reactive" survival to "proactive" living. My fear is seeing people quit this life because they didn't have the right "staging" or infrastructure in place before they hit the road. Stoked to be here and learn from those of you who have been on the pavement for the long haul! Richie

t’s wild how life works out when you finally stop trying to force it. Honestly, my start in this life felt a lot like fate. A couple of years ago, I came out of a five-year struggle of a relationship. I was at a crossroads—didn't really have a clue where I was headed, I just knew I needed a change. I stumbled across a random Facebook post looking for a "workamper." At the time, I didn't even know that was a thing! But since I already worked for myself from home, I figured, “Why not? Let’s check it out.” I took the position, and within two weeks, I moved up to Director of Operations. It has been the best decision I’ve ever made. Now, I get to combine the 20+ years of systems-building I did before—helping people create legitimate, life-changing income streams online—with the full RV lifestyle. It’s allowed me to help others bridge that same gap and live a truly Rich Life. I have so much respect for you and Tim doing this 9 years ago when the "roadmap" didn't exist. You guys were the pioneers! I’m just trying to make sure the people following behind us have the infrastructure to stay on the road as long as you have.
