Remembering Mike Wolff
It is with great sadness that I share that Mike Wolff passed away suddenly on October 14th, 2026. Mike was the owner of HIT Strength in Illinois and a member of HIB. Over decades, Mike built one of the most successful HIT businesses I have come across. His team delivers more than 400 workouts every week and has made a massive impact on the local community. Since hearing the news, what has struck me most is how highly Mike was regarded by the people closest to him. He was clearly deeply loved by his family, his team, his clients, and the community he spent so many years serving. I don’t want to pretend that I knew Mike better than I did. I invited him onto the podcast numerous times because I thought there was so much our industry could learn from what he had built. But Mike always struck me as a relatively private and humble man. He didn’t seem particularly interested in drawing attention to himself or talking publicly about his success. Instead, he just kept doing the work. He focused on training people, developing his team, and growing HIT Strength. And helping people become stronger and healthier, week after week, year after year. There is something very admirable about that. Mike built an extraordinary business and had an enormous impact without needing to make himself the centre of the story. And the business and team he built continue to serve people every single week. That is an incredible legacy. His loss will be felt deeply in his local community, and I believe it is also a significant loss for the wider HIT community. My thoughts are with Mike’s family, his team at HIT Strength, his clients, and everyone who knew and loved him. In the coming weeks, I hope to arrange a podcast roundtable with people who knew Mike well, so we can celebrate his life, share some stories, and preserve some of the lessons and wisdom from what he built. If you knew Mike, trained with him, worked with him, or simply have a memory of him that you would like to share, please feel free to leave it below.

I don't charge by the session; I charge by the month. £182 for 1 a week, £364 if paid monthly (averages £40ish per session). If they pay for blocks, the price comes down 6 month average is £35, and 12 months is £30. If I do do a single session, I charge £45. Only have one paid 6 months in advance. That was on the back of a price raise offer.

I use PT Distinction; everyone has their own copy and fills it in. The aim is to progress in reps, then weight. RM target is 6-8, weight increments of 2.5Kg (5lbs). If they can do 8 or more reps next visit, the weight goes up. Sorry, I don't know you well enough to add a picture of my tool!🤣🤣🤣

@Logan Bayless Yes, pretty much. I have access as well, but most just get on and do it themself.
