Daily Check-In - Tuesday 22 September
This is your space to practise reflection and planning, two skills that are just as crucial to your results as anything you're learning in Encoding or Retrieval. New here? Use this formula. It's built to take under 2 minutes, so there's no excuse not to do it daily, even on your busiest day. Day [X] 🔥 Today: [Win/Draw/Loss + Justification] Tomorrow: [A 1% improvement to make tomorrow slightly better] Already doing Self-Management work? Swap the formula for your own deeper daily reflection (Kolb's) and plan. It's the same underlying process, just with more depth. Key rule for "Tomorrow": your 1% improvement must be a change to your system or process rather than just a task on your to-do list. - ✅ System change: "Deleting Instagram from my home screen" → benefits every day after this one, automatically. - ❌ Just a task: "Do a physics past paper" → helps once, then you're back to zero. Remember, always progress over perfection

Day 13 Today: win - I practiced with constraint drilling, focusing on the part where I get overwhelmed with info. Unlearning old habits take time, but I will take this day as a win. Tomorrow: I recommit to having three minimal practice blocks throughout the day.
🗓️ Weekly plan 21-26 September
Time to sit down and get an idea of what a successful next 7 days would look like. To help feel more in control of your life and like every day you are working towards something larger, a weekly plan is a vital tool. To make sure you are keeping up with your system progression, i want you to divide your weekly plan into two groups: One called "General" which is just your usual weekly plan, and one called "Bloom" which is where you plan what you need to do in order to improve your study system (Follow your progression document as this will give you the tasks that need to be completed) If you are unsure about how to do so, consult the guide i made as well as an exemplar plan that I made (links below) https://www.skool.com/bloom-learning-3643/classroom/39cbaba3?md=0d60a79e2b554a99893bf1f35fc17d8e https://www.skool.com/bloom-learning-3643/weekly-plan-20-27-july?p=020c0a79 No need to overthink this, just simply create a list of the tasks you would like to have ticked off or habits you would have liked to have completed in 7 days time. Make it as specific as possible so that each day when completing your daily plan for the following day, you are able to consult your weekly plan and decide on the tasks you want to tick off that day. Your ultimate goal is to have some metric to compare against at the end of the week to determine if your week was a success.

This week will be catch up with. My academic week is also a little flexible which allows me to realign my priorities and prepare for the class tests for the upcoming week. As I have a procedural subject coming up which I struggle with quite a bit, I want to make regular practice a part of my routine. For my Bloom weekly plan, I will fill my gaps of self management and consistency in retrieval.

Day [X] 🔥 Today: [Win/Draw/Loss + Justification] Tomorrow: [A 1% improvement to make tomorrow slightly better] Important: The 1% improvement should be something in your system/process rather than just a task. This is so the gain will ideally forever benefit you. Example: Eliminating one source of distraction will provide a benefit for every subsequent day, whereas doing a physics past paper will only help you in the short term. Also feel free to add additional things to your daily check-ins. For example I like posting my habit tracker here to keep myself accountable, you may want to do the same or to post your daily plans to keep you accountable. Remember, always progress over perfection

Day 12 Today: draw - although I was well on top of my responsibilities today, I didn't get much time to work on my learning. Tomorrow: prime before main learning event

Day 12 Today: Win - endured day long seminar. Could done some things to increase my receptivity, but overall I had a good practice. Naming my intention for each session could increase focus. Also, I could have thought more in terms of the big picture. Tomorrow: Do review and build on it.
