Nice!
comfort foods
The Golden Girls had cheesecake when things got rough AND for those late night bonding chats. What is your go to when the going gets tough? Also, my car was stolen today in the US while waiting to be sold. If it were open… I’d order some crème puffs. I may have to settle for some cheesecake… or, a good stuffed crepe!

Oh no, I'm sorry! And here I thought it was awful that Chris had to spend several hours helping me buy things at IKEA for the new house today, which happens to be his birthday. And he was so exhausted after, we never even got the chance to try to find him some cake, or any kind of treat. Yours is definitely awful-er! More awful! Je suis vraiment désolée. 😭
redefining grocery runs
Marché de Capucins is a legendary market here in Bordeaux, France. You can find, anything. As long as it’s seasonal, sustainable and regionally sourced. Our fridges are smaller… most of us don’t have cars. What we buy, we carry all the way home. You chose things thoughtfully… and when you don’t have anything to eat at home, you’re actually out of food. 😌

I love the Marché de Capucins. I'm so excited that we're moving from Bègles to central Bordeaux this weekend, although I'll miss our Wednesday Marché here. We'll be a five-minute walk from the Marché de Capucins! I'd rather have gotten the apartment in your Chartrons neighborhood, but we love the public transport and are getting electric bikes, so we can zip up there in no time! Here's a picture of the Marché de Capucins a few weekends ago. We also visited the indoor Marché when we went to Angoulême last month, but I can't find a picture.

@Natalie Brigmond Oh nice, I'll definitely pop over to the Sunday market! So close to being neighbors. Let's get a coffee or something soon, when you're in my neighborhood. We'll be slow-moving into the new place, and moving out of the AB&B, plus thoroughly cleaning both over the next several days. It's amazing how gross and dirty so many of the apartments we looked at have been, including this house we're moving into. It's like the landlords have no standards in the lease for leaving the place clean. We have until Tuesday here at the AB&B, and I'm glad because I want to scour all four floors of the new house before we actually live there. Point being, I'll probably be busy and exhausted until around next Wednesday or Thursday.

There are too many good options here! I'd want to do them all. I didn't want to learn to cook as a teen, but I now wish I had learned Knife Skills, Kitchen Fundamentals, Fun with Chemistry, and I'm never gonna say "no" to Cookies, Cakes, Quickbreads, and Ice Cream. Especially the cakes, hopefully with lots of vanilla or chocolate buttercream frosting because that doesn't seem to exist here, and I miss it! I also miss ice cream. What's your favorite in the options you posted?

@Natalie Brigmond I'm totally a science-based nerd. We're in so many of the same clubs, my friend! 😁 Mastering Delicious does sound like a great option. We haven't mastered making veggies taste delicious, even though we eat a lot of them. Since veggies are so healthy, why hasn't someone engineered them to taste like chocolate?! 🤣
Salty Pepper
If you are wondering how the Salty Pepper group got it’s name… this is the ORIGINAL, Salty Pepper. Most famous chien in Southwest France… Most loved chiot in Bordeaux . The fluffiest bear and the softest pointy ears that have ever been. The French, are her people 🇫🇷 Though, don’t let the big smile fool you. She is #werking. She takes herself VERY seriously, loves her chewies, and is big on personal space… Most of all, she loves greeting her adoring fans with a wag of her curly tail. ***Fun Fact !! Pepper will be 15 years old on 27 of October ! 🥰🥰🥰 We are having a party 🎈

@Natalie Brigmond Awwwww, I love that you let her drive the bus for 3 hours. We would sometimes let Padfoot play Choose Your Own Adventure on walks.

I live in the Bordeaux, France Métropole with my husband Chris. We're learning French and are excited to meet new people.
