Hello everyone, I'm Renato Carotti, looking to learn more from everyone because I don't know much about watches and thought it was about "time" I learned more!
Monterey Watch Co - Kitty Hawk EK
Was pleasantly surprised to come home to this in the mail last night. Tim truly is an outstanding man and offers the best customer service I've ever experienced. The watch was professionally packaged in a hard plastic case, and a bonus free gift was included as well. I think this is going to be my new daily driver. As a trucker with a rugged cowboy aesthetic, the brown leather strap feels right at home with boots, hats, and cigars. The black dial is sharp, mysterious, and masculine. The pilot watch design is ideal for a trucker who was numerous other instruments to constantly monitor, and the quintessential oversized crown is perfect for rough, gear-jammin fingers.

WOTD - Monterey Kitty Hawk EK
Hey guys, long time since I posted a watch of the day. This one I just got in from Tim Hermes over at the Monterey Watch Co. A 42mm watch with mechanical wind up and beautiful sapphire face and brown leather straps to go with Blue Watch Monday. What do you guys think?

Alright @Antonio Centeno here are a couple of questions I'd love to ask Mr. "Epic Coolness" Hermes: 1- You describe starting Monterey Watch Company with “high-octane ADHD” and very little industry knowledge. How has that outsider mindset helped you innovate and where has it forced you to learn the hardest lessons? 2- That first DIY watch kit clearly lit a fuse. What was the moment during those early builds when this stopped feeling like a hobby and started feeling like a real company? 3- You scaled rapidly, from assembling at home to offshore manufacturing. What were the toughest quality or control challenges during that transition and how did you decide which compromises you were not willing to make? 4- You emphasize selling “a great watch at a fair price” across three tiers. How do you define “fair” in an industry often driven by markup, prestige and hype? 5- Client involvement seems central to your brand. Can you share a specific instance where customer feedback or a Brand Ambassador directly changed a design, process or business decision? 6- You say you care more about clients than the brand itself. In practical terms, how does that philosophy show up when something goes wrong, say like delays, defects or unmet expectations? 7- Wow, after 4,000 timepieces, you still get a charge from every order, that's awesome! What do you think would have to change, or stay the same, to preserve that feeling as the company continues to grow? 8- You hint at “BIG plans.” Without giving too much away, what does the next chapter of Monterey Watch Company look like in terms of product evolution, scale or community? 9- Lastly, I'm dying to know, how's the family, how're the knees, how's the dog named "PIG", and did you name your chicken "COW"?
