Are Videos that are slightly outside my micro niche but still in my niche killing my YT recommendations?
I have a channel with 20k + subs with a niche of; Backpacking>Appalachian Trail> Thru Hikers>Thru Hiker and Trail News. I do a weekly News episode on what's going on with the Appalachian Trail ( AT ) and the Thru hikers on it. Occasionally I include my own hikes, gear reviews, other subject matter on the AT and backpacking. My weekly news video gets 5k to 10 k+ views. My personal hikes on the AT get 3-6k. I have recently hiked the Camino in France and are uploading my videos for that trail. My vids on it are way down and I get 1.5k-3k. Is my Camino hike vids too far outside my AT backpacking niche and the lower view rate is hurting my overall channel recommendations. My growth has been anemic for 5 years with about 85 subs a month. @Alexa Saarenoja

@Alexa Saarenoja tks for the response, my concern was itwas hurting my other AT content and causing YT to reccomend my channel less. I'm genuine and have a great community. Given the comments on my off AT hike vids and even MY personalhike vids as opposed to news I feel I should continue them. If I'm wrong let me know.

Fake copyright violation emails
I've been getting several vague emails lately that I have violated a copyright of someone's music and they would like to solve it outside of YT. I've asked what video and gotten crickets. I assume they are fake. How would I report these to YT?

so basically YT creator help says the same and adds they don't arbitrate between creators. They say I need to look in my dashboard for any strikes.

Do you guys make shorts for YouTube or do you just take part of your longer video and repost as a short?

Use Vid IQ for ideas, have used free opus clips. I feel it drives some traffic to my channel

As your camera fills up - where do you move your videos to? As your laptop fills up - same?

I have a 1tb drive that has a mini usb c for my phone and a USB 3 for my pc. I also back that up with a 2 tb USB c drive. Both fit in my pocket easily
