Behind Every Door, A Story Only God Knows One evening, I sat with my dear friend and looked at the beautiful houses, shiny cars, and perfect gardens around us. I sighed and said to Jesus, Me:“Jesus… sometimes people look so happy, so successful. Beautiful homes, nice cars, perfect smiles. But something inside me says we never truly know.” Jesus:“My child, every house has a story. Every heart carries something unseen. Behind some doors there is laughter, and behind others there are tears hidden in silence.” My friend looked at me softly. Friend:“You’re right. We see the outside and think someone has the perfect life. But maybe inside that house someone is crying, worried, lonely, or fighting battles no one knows.” I looked at the houses again. Me:“Sometimes we use material things to show the world we are okay… to hide pain, fear, disappointment, or emptiness.” Jesus smiled gently. Jesus:“Yes. A beautiful house does not always mean peace lives inside. A nice car does not mean joy is driving the heart. People can cover pain with success, smiles, and things.” Me:“So why do we judge, Jesus?” Jesus:“Because humans see with eyes, but God sees with truth. You see the outside; I see the soul. I see the tears behind closed doors, the prayers whispered at midnight, the fears hidden behind smiles.” My friend became quiet. Friend:“This makes me think… maybe instead of judging people, we should be kinder. Because we never know what battle someone is carrying.” Jesus:“That is wisdom. Be gentle. Be compassionate. Speak softly. The person you envy may be struggling. The person you judge may be hurting. The person smiling may be asking Me for strength.” I looked up to the sky.
