Third Wave AI
Good morning! (It’s just about afternoon here) A quick update on some AI in Education. I’ve been working with OpenClaw lately to look at creating more robust tutoring solutions. If you watched last weeks LiveStream, then you are familiar with the ideas of a CoWork AI model - where the AI is more than just a conversation. The AI can actually access my computer and do actual activities by itself! There are some concerns about letting AI run around your system - I’m working on a video about that now. Anyhow, the bigger picture is how this will/can be used in learning and education. Is there an interest here in having me share these experiences with the community?

Hi @Frank Bergdoll and others! I agree, OpenClaw is quite a thing... Just a couple thoughts about it... First, Please don't install it on a computer that means something to you... In general, it is dangerous, and will find ways to make things go it's way, while thinking it is doing something for you. If you want to be safer, you can use a new product from NVidia called NemoClaw which is setup for Much better security and being more stable in an automatically protected environment... Info about it below: Base URL in NVidia: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/ai/nemoclaw/ GitHub: https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw I tried to keep this short and to the point... Please be safe on computers that are important to you... Have a Wonderful Day! RayW...
Thank you!
Thank you to everyone that attended the "Learning with AI Course" If you have a moment, it would be great to hear one take-away that might have been helpful or most useful. I'll try to run this course again in a couple of months - I'm trying to think of some other courses as well (suggestions always welcome)

Hi @Frank Bergdoll ! It has been quite a while for me since I taught many of the subjects you covered in this class... There is no doubt that these techniques work well, even with an old version of myself relearning them ;-). I definitely appreciate this class, Thank You VERY much! I didn't just appreciate this class (I enjoyed it as well!)... Thanks Again and have a Wonderful Day! RayW...
Thursday 2/19/26 AI coding
Hello Folks. I was offline for the last 2 meeting of the Course but I hope to reconnect soon, I can't recommend highly enough this Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDcgHzCBgmQ The poster is Nate B Jones. I recommend anything by him but he is technical and not an easy listen. As you may know, AI is now writing computer code. Nate's main point here is that the BIG change that has to take place in this transition from human to AI code writing is that the humans have to adjust. Developers who wish to stay employed have to change their skills to speciation writing and scenario development. I would be happy to ATTEMPT to answer any follow-up questions.

@Tom Pears , Humans will just take a slightly different role in programming... I've seen several of that channel's videos, and he is definitely a techie... Computer AIs are virtually "superhuman" in many forms of programming. The better instructions you give them, the better they will do for you. That doesn't mean they are "Better", tell a computer what is important to you and they will "Help You" get what you want. The better you are on that discussion the better the computer will do for you! The only way to fly, don't you think? Have a Wonderful Day! RayW...
The "Promise" of AI
Well... I guess it's time to stop everything. Today I read that AI will soon do ALL the work, and there will be no need for anyone anymore. Sheesh. I appreciate that AI is powerful and cool, but it seems a bit optimistic to think it will take over everything. My thought is that it is an important new technology - but it won't be as dramatic as people think. I decided to have AI create an image for me on some of the other technologies that were going to take over.

Hi @Frank Bergdoll ! Yep, an AI robot bringing you your morning coffee, we have a coffeemaker for that ;-) ! I am glad that a couple folks on the sidewalk, so that still has a purpose. Yeah, I am not worried about it... I have been a programmer for over 30 years, and have to say AI is way better than it ever was and still making stupid mistakes. I also make some of the same mistakes myself. Who's better? I know the AI would beat me in speed every time. The AI needs someone to ask for something to program. I am better at that than it is. An AI can help me choose, so it is trying to fill that gap as well... A coffeemaker does a fine job. A sidewalk does more good than a jetpack (I keep thinking of Chitty -Chitty-Bang-Bang on that one, do you know why?). I am being to like new VR Headsets :-) ! Steam is too much work. I don't think we have anything to worry about ;-) ... Have a Wonderful Day! RayW...
