Strategy at X
A good article below on why Philly Waterdogs, shoutout my former teammate Hayes on getting another ring, ends with an interesting note: They Didn't Press Sowers at X I'll leave this one to the guy who knows things: “Manley is a warrior and 10 years ago he would have put CJ in the third row. But not at this time. JT battles Sowers but the pick game is intense with the Waterdogs. It was foolish not pressing X.” So that leads me to ask this group on both sides of the ball, what are your thoughts at X? How would you have game planned against Sowers? Is X over rated/under rated? X is the most valuable place to dodge from because you get the biggest payoff going the shortest distance. Good dodgers go where they want and if you can flip the field when you choose it’s very hard for defenses to be in the proper spot off ball. Anything that is below 3 yards above GLE is a good place to dodge but if you can dominate behind the net defenses can try what they want but it will be tough sledding.

@Austin Polson-McCannon it is taught in different ways but I think the weave/sweep offenses don’t have a focus on the area below gle. Pairs you flip the field but that isn’t for the same advantages. There are some really obvious advantages when you beat your man from X vs other parts of the field. To have a good team attacking at X you need a ball carrier and not every team has one. There is nothing new under the sun but the late 90’s is a great time in lacrosse to see the more X dominated offensive schemes.
