Validation
This post is for you to speak on a feeling or emotion that you have kept inside because you were worried that others wouldn’t understand you, or possibly even listen without the need to be seen themselves. It might feel uncomfortable to speak here because so often we aren’t properly heard, but I want to assure you this is a safe space. Part of my training as a Somatics coach was how to listen, and I use that in my work as a sound practitioner everyday. I also find myself in spaces where I feel unheard, and despite my training it still hurts. So I want to offer this space for you to validated.

The fear I have that is related to my imposter syndrome and perfectionistic personality related to childhood trauma. It's stopped me from trying so many things. And I fear losing my job because they will find out I'm a fraud. Any time I fall behind I absolutely panic even though others are further behind.
Who do you want to show up as today?
A practice I’ve recently started is deciding right when I wake up, before the day gets started, is deciding who I want to show up as. Too often our lives get wrapped up in busyness, moving from here to there, dealing with stress and overwhelm, and that can lead to us responded to the environment around us. What happens next is snapping at our kids or spouse, rushing through things that need attention, eating meals too fast or even dissociating by picking up our phones. While we can’t always remove ourselves from the environment, we do have the power to pause in the moment and choose how we move. Slow down, take a deep breath and think about what your next move is, in who you are authentically. When we make this decision as we open our eyes, it helps to instill this practice and reminds us to stay grounded, in receiving and maintaining our personal power. I choose to be a safe space for myself and those around me. Myself first or I can't help anyone else. I choose to be peace, with the option for warrior if necessary to protect my boundaries and those who need protection. Warrior doesn't have to mean I have lost my peace.
