Who do you want to show up as today?
A practice I’ve recently started is deciding right when I wake up, before the day gets started, is deciding who I want to show up as. Too often our lives get wrapped up in busyness, moving from here to there, dealing with stress and overwhelm, and that can lead to us responded to the environment around us. What happens next is snapping at our kids or spouse, rushing through things that need attention, eating meals too fast or even dissociating by picking up our phones. While we can’t always remove ourselves from the environment, we do have the power to pause in the moment and choose how we move. Slow down, take a deep breath and think about what your next move is, in who you are authentically. When we make this decision as we open our eyes, it helps to instill this practice and reminds us to stay grounded, in receiving and maintaining our personal power.
