two wins this week. 1. Forward momentum with the new Graphic Design hire. I have to remind myself about soccer ball delegation. We're traveling for spring break with the kids, so I need to draft projects for the next 2 weeks. 2. I created an automated way to post new Meta Ads, so I'm no longer a bottle neck to get things up and running.

Started working with our first new hire (graphic design) this week. She's educated, experienced, skilled and eager to work. I, however, was woefully unprepared to delegate, so it's back to reviewing the framework for me. I also still need to launch the Ads already made.

Second attempt at hiring with a new job listing. Learned a lot from the first round. Moving the ball down field.

We had the first round of interviews and paid sample submission for a FT graphic designer position. Didn't find someone to hire yet from that group, so trying again with adjustments this week.

First comment. Couple small wins on the delegation and hiring front Delegation Win: Mini-project for marketing calendar has stalled on output from the staff, but one person has really taken to using Claude (he's a former computer science major, ai skeptic), so I was really keen for him to see the possibilities. He's part-time, so we're increasing his weekly hours. For him, he saw that he could create software for a personal collectible trading card business. My other staff is doing the work with late submissions, but I don't get the same excited vibe from her. Hiring Win: Posted the first JD for a full-time Graphic Designer position and received about 30 responses, invited 14 for a group info-session and 2 showed up. The other 12 self-selected out, I guess. Originally we had a single salary number that gave a solid stream of replies, then made that into a range (which actually slowed the responses), then made it into a smaller range (replies returned). Take-away, a single or small range might be better, since it may be perceived as two different roles: Jr. vs Sr.
