FƗƗƗing Up
Hey guys I fxcked up yesterday- how do you create accountability? No idea why I did this but after porridge, fruit nuts, I downed an entire large Dairy Milk bar. I felt great most of the day and had an amazing run of the great outdoors with my fave music on. I wasn't hungry when it came to dinner but I ate cus I had this voice saying "don't lose weight...don't get leaner". I ended up eating far too much and slept badly. Any strategies for avoiding being a twxt? It's like a trap when it happens and I can't find the Off switch... Also went to the gym and weighed in - after 7 days on no gym, I've somehow shed 3 kg. Depressed me! My goal is to be 90kg by December...and I was happy to have reached 80kg but now 77kg FFS! I've never been fat - and always felt too skinny and bad about it. Vulnerable share - thanks for your attention!

Another thing I find exceptional for mental health and mood is. 1 showing up for myself regularly. 2 keeping my word (to myself) 3 pushing through difficult and uncomfortable moments. I've come across this great program of body weight exercises that I try to complete first thing every day. Loosen up, big stretches, a bit of work, then cold shower. Its just 10-15 minutes of my day. Happy to share the link if anyones interested... šŸ‘€

7 weeks!
I've got 7 weeks to the day, until the J'man himself is coming to check on my progress. Now thats a new level of accountability! Gonna see what kind of streak I can get! Anyone want to join? I'm 1/49. Smash it out and pop a photo or a 'DONE' in here on completion of your session!

Looks like it's just me and the mat... Shoulder injury on the mend, mobility improving, knee pain fading, midlife gut shrinking...

end of Feb update - New Moon in Pisces 2mo!
I've been off my feet since last Friday when I got the uh-oh scratchy throat...and you know what happens 48 hrs later. Anyway, it's behind me now and I'm ready to get back to the gym. It's too chilly for me outdoors in UK rn and I don't have the right gear. I'm finally, after 6 years (!) a weight I'm happier with (80kg, 6ft2) but I'd like to be 90kg...with a better stamina for runs. I'm nowhere near as stacked as Johnny, I've always been much leaner and lithe. I've been running 10mph for around 4-5 mins...then repeating 3 or 4 times...the rest I do dynamic weights or static weight bearing. I'd like to do something more fun - but I can't find something local that interests me other than "Bed By 10", a daytime dance club. How are you guys getting on? Oh -1 last thing. I've been following researchers who study the relationship to keto diet and mental disorders: from anxiety to depression, to bipolar and schizophrenia. The results with their patients in 6 weeks is astounding. I'm thinking of giving it a go as I am prone to low mood (which always improves with exercise). Anyone else tried a keto diet? My understanding is it's above-ground veg heavy (ie. no roots), very low carbs, berries , nuts, seeds and meat, fish, shellfish. I have a local supply of fresh venison so it seems like the perfect time. I've been a bread fiend all my life (even really good high quality sourdough la la la) but I don't think it's a good fit for me.

Here he is. Just saw this mate. Glad you're on the mend. Not as stacked as Johnny! Who is?!? 🤣 he's definitely your go to re: putting on 'sheer mass' but I don't mind chiming in on the other chat. Wrong gear? Yeah i hear ya. Im a bit rusty and spoiled by the relatively mild portuguese winter, but having the gear is a must. Love a tight fitting base layer, leggings, full ninja, then heading out in hard rain. Getting outs hard, but once im out, breathing hard and steaming, feels pretty amazing! Nothing like pushing through something you don't want to do, cold water, fasting, last set of 12 reps. Very jealous of the venison buddy, might have to bring my skinning knives next time I'm in the UK and pay you a visit? Have you ever dressed a carcas yourself? It's an experience for sure. Don't think I've ever gone full keto, but settled on a bit of a low carb two Meal Day ish hybrid myself. High carbs for lunch only. Breakfast only when I feel I need it. Probably a similar build to you, always struggles to put on mass, and it falls off me if I don't fuel properly. So never tried to go hard out in the carbs. Also, love bread. If I had the access you do, I'd definitely give carnevor a go. Love the idea of cycling keto. As far as mood goes, apart from the obvious, nutrition, movement, sleep and good amigos, I have 5htp (pre cursor to serotonin) as a bit of a secret weapon. https://my.healthpath.com/products/serotonin-enhancement-5-htp-120s/4035?utm_term=&utm_campaign=Healthpath+-+Shopping+-+CSS+-+Supplements&utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=ppc&hsa_acc=5004928523&hsa_cam=21567420222&hsa_grp=164519454863&hsa_ad=708717505813&hsa_src=g&hsa_tgt=pla-321003541602&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2oW-BhC2ARIsADSIAWq30OWRHMKvt_FMjvdbO7f3QzL3ej4ghA9_9t3S47ydjAsaXsL1l5IaAmv-EALw_wcB
Morning Walk / Run
So pretty sure lots of us are in GMT / middle of winter time-zone. I live in Portugal so weather slightly better than UK this time of year ;-) but I'm still struggling to get out of the house for an AM stint M-F! Day light in my eyes, light movement, some greenery / nature. Don't need to sell you guys on the benefits. But I'm struggling! Usually wake naturally before 7, then get up at the first sign of day light (07:30). Smash some water, then get my indoor morning movement workout underway (FF inspired movement plus a bit of light kettlebell work and stretch), shower, then login for work. Breakfast / lunch at 11 am then its mid afternoon and I haven't left the fucking house! Anyone got any hard and fast tips to create that extra 15-30 mins or kick themselves up the ass and get out despite the drizzle / dark? I'm [ ] this close to signing up for Lisbon Marathon, just to give myself an incentive 🤣
