For the parent still carrying something they've never put down.
Lord, I need to have an honest conversation with You about something I have been holding for too long. I haven't forgiven myself. For the season I wasn't who they needed. For the years I was so consumed by my own survival that they got whatever was left. For the words I can't take back and the moments I can't redo and the version of me I wish they hadn't had to know. I say I've given it to You. But I pick it back up every time I look at them and see something I think I caused. Tonight I want to actually put it down. Not because what happened didn't matter. But because You already paid for it. Because the same blood that covers every other sin covers this one too. Because holding onto this isn't protecting my child — it is just keeping me in a prison that You already unlocked the door of. Receive this from me. The guilt, the regret, the what ifs. Take it. All of it. And give me the grace to receive forgiveness not just as a doctrine but as a reality I actually walk in. I am forgiven. Help me live like it. In Jesus' name. Amen.

This hits so hard. As a mama who was in survival mode as I raised my girls. So much regret and so much I couldn’t give them in that state. BUT GOD!!! Jesus didn’t leave us that way. Now I’m raising my oldest grandson and I can (and am) doing it differently. I’ve seen BOTH my daughters return not only to me but to The Lord. Both coming out of addiction. And I’ve got 4 other grandchildren who now have amazing moms who inspire me each and every day. God is SO good. We just need to learn when to let go.

@Ashley Lunnon He is 8 and has quite a few special needs. I’m not sure Abeka is the right fit for him. That’s part of what the homeschooling community is teaching me in our deschooling processes.

@Ashley Lunnon deschooling is basically breaking all of the habits, behaviors, and thoughts about what school should be. We are conditioned to think it needs to run like the public school system. I found out there were multiple styles to educate in and in those styles there are even more systems that contribute to the education of our kids. It’s pretty in depth but that’s the basics of it. It’s been really freeing for me to realize that I can teach my grandson what I want and what he is interested in. Plus I can find a way to get him engaged in the learning any way that fits best for us. Of course he needs the core subjects but even those I have freedom to teach him. It’s been so liberating and I don’t have to worry about the school’s brainwashing him with stuff that goes against Gods word. 💜 In fact I can incorporate Bible studies! 🥰
