Headphones or not?
Hi Everyone, I'm late to the party but am gearing up to put my podcast "The Modern Mammal" out there soon-ish. In organizing my tech, I'm wondering about headphones. I see many podcasts, including some here and Kelly's, where the host is not wearing headphones. Do they have small ones tucked behind their hair? I'm curious about not wearing headphones as they are bulky and I tend to wear big earrings. In the Podigy classroom, it seems that headphones are important and suggested. Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance!

Headphones are optional depending on your setup, but we’d definitely recommend investing in a good-quality mic, it’s the biggest upgrade you can make for your podcast! 🥳

Here are a few Justin’s go-to recommendations: #1. Microphone: 🎯 Ultra-Premium: Shure SM7B - Industry standard podcasting microphone - Has that classic "podcasting look" 🎯 Premium: Shure MV7 - USB + XLR connection (plug into your laptop now, upgrade later with an audio interface) - Professional sound quality, designed for podcasters 🎯 Budget: Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB - Excellent sound at a lower price - USB plug-and-play—perfect for beginners #2. Mic Stand: 🎯 Premium: Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP - Low-profile, sits very low and out of sight - Sturdy + smooth adjustment 🎯 Budget: InnoGear Boom Arm - Standard boom arm - Affordable and easy to use
Just for fun
This made me laugh. DeArrow is a browser extension that crowdsources less sensational YouTube title and thumbnails. https://dearrow.ajay.app/ So people replace the existing titles and thumbnails with more useful and honest ones and the people who use the extension get those instead. It's not exactly gonna scale but I think it's fun that this exists. And makes me feel a little less alone in my dislike of playing the YT game.

That’s hilarious 😂
Descript
Hello. How do I pull an image from Descript to use for my thumbnail?

Hi Tara, To capture a frame as an image in Descript: 1. Navigate to the frame you want to save. 2. Click the Layers button in the scene toolbar. 3. Select Save current frame to project files. Your saved frame will appear in your project files as a PNG image. You can find it in the Files panel on the left sidebar, or by clicking Project > Show project files from the top menu. From there, you can drag the image into your composition, download it to your device, or use it with other Descript tools.
6 pods up! 23 to go!
Hey team - just published my 6th episode of Your Way Back. Have several more recorded and in various stages of editing. Welcome your feedback! About to launch our PROOF series where we share long term patient survival stories (with patterns and advice) across many different types of cancer. I've learned that lighting makes a huge difference 💡 (have 4 lights now!), my mother hates my hair 🤣 and that Podigy does a wonderful job editing, clipping , shownoting and thumbnailing! 🥰

Hi Lourdes!! Ahh no worries at all, that happens! So nice to hear from you! I’ve sent an email regarding your podcast plan, artwork, and music, since those were all needing your approval before we could move forward. We’d still be very happy to help you pick things back up. Feel free to check your email when you have a moment, and we can go from there. 🥳
