The everyday French expressions textbooks leave out!
Bonjour la communauté!! Ever notice how real conversational French sounds completely different from the audio tracks in old grammar books? To sound like a natural speaker, you need to step away from rigid formulas and start using the quick, casual expressions that natives actually use every single day. Why this matters for your fluency Fluency isn't about being a grammar robot; it's about conversational chemistry. When you sprinkle these natural expressions into your speech, you instantly sound more relaxed, confident, and like a true part of the conversation. Let's practice this live! Tomorrow at our Speaking Lab, we are going to cover a variety of these essential expressions used in everyday French. I will leave the deep explanations for the class—instead, we will focus purely on practicing them in real-time conversations so you can stop translating word-for-word and start reacting like a local. When: Tomorrow @ 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM (Bangkok Time) or 9pm EST Write a comment with your name to sign up! See you there!
A tiny doorway into French flavours
Today, when I was faced with lots of choices while selecting “une morceau de fromage” (a piece of cheese) I used the “akkar bakkar” method… which is “Am stram gram” for French speakers or “Eenie meenie miney moo” for English speakers. 😂 But I don’t use this method for everything. Like for example I didn’t pick my French professor randomly. I chose him because he is competent and patient. In our current sessions we are working on my speaking fluidity and fluency. It will come with practice. And that’s exactly why I am describing my experience using correct tenses in this video in French. Reviewing my tenses was my homework. And it means more than memorising verb conjugations on their own. Because you see in French context is king. So speaking with a mentor and getting their feedback live is extremely helpful. So did you practice your French today?

Haha, I love the akkar bakkar strategy for cheese selection, definitely a solid method! Thank you so much for kind words. It is an absolute pleasure working with you. You hit the nail on the head: context really is king in French, and your dedication to practicing with real-life scenarios is exactly how true fluency happens. Keep up the fantastic work, and see you in our next session!🙌
French Debate & Persuasion - Social Media: Connection or Disconnection?

We’ll practice: - Analyzing the impact of social media on modern communication and mental health. - Formulating complex arguments to debate whether these platforms bring us closer together or drive us apart. - Handling counterarguments spontaneously and refining your precision when defending a viewpoint. Mastering silent letters in French!
Salut tout le monde! Ever feel like you’re doing great reading a French sentence, until you stumble upon a word that looks like it has five extra letters you aren't supposed to say? You are not alone. Mastering silent letters is the ultimate shortcut to sounding less like a textbook and more like a local. In French, we love writing letters just for decoration. Here are three major culprits you’ll see constantly: - Le Grand (The Tall One): Grand is pronounced "grahn". That final -d is completely silent. - Parler (To Speak): Parler is pronounced "par-lay". Whenever an infinitive verb ends in -er, the -r goes quiet. - Salut (Hi/Bye): Salut is pronounced "sah-loo". Throw away that final -t! Why This Matters If you pronounce every single letter, French becomes choppy and robotic. When you learn which letters to drop, your speech instantly gains that smooth, flowing rhythm the French language is famous for. Tonight, we are stripping away the guesswork and building your beginner foundations from scratch. No prior knowledge needed, just bring your curiosity! We kick off tonight at 9:00 PM Bangkok time (10:00 AM EST). Ready to start your French journey with total confidence? Drop your name in the comments below if you are joining us tonight! See you there!
Speaking Lab : Impro Voyage !
Bonjour tout le monde! Ready to boost your French fluency in a fun, interactive way? Our next live class is just around the corner! 📅 When: Tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:00 AM (Bangkok Time) / 10:00 PM EST (Wednesday night) (Heads up, spots are limited!) 🗣️ Speaking Lab – Build Fluency For this session, we are going to explore a theme that everyone loves: "Travel and Dream Destinations". But watch out, this won't be a traditional grammar lecture! The main challenge of this session will be an interactive linguistic construction game. We will start with very simple sentences about travel plans or past trips, and together, we will transform them live. I will challenge you to add descriptive adjectives, change the tenses (past, future), or apply negations to make your speech much richer. What we will practice in this interactive session: - Boost your responsiveness: Learn to think faster in French without freezing mid-sentence when describing a place. - Enrich your structures: Move from a basic idea (e.g., "Je vais en France") to a smooth, natural sentence ("L'année prochaine, je ne vais pas en France mais je préfère visiter le Canada"). - Practice without stress: Share your actual travel habits, your ultimate dream destinations, and your favorite travel anecdotes. Recommended Level: Ideal for A2 to B1 levels (intermediates). If you already know the basics but want that breakthrough to speak more spontaneously and with better structure, this class is tailor-made for you. Note: This will be a highly interactive session where we transform simple sentences into complex ones live using the theme of traveling. Come ready to participate and build your confidence! If you plan to join us, leave a quick comment below this post! See you in class!
