🔥 What do you do to sell art 🎨 No Gatekeeping 💰
This is maybe the most important post till now. This post is going to help us all grow! 🔥 Let’s share all our knowledge. Sinds we are so much stronger together. We are now with 169 messy artists. What is incredibly! So let’s fire it up! And take over the art world 😂🙌🥳🔥 I go first 🥰 and than it’s your turn to start sharing and help your fellow artists friends grow and make a living of there art. No gate keeping 😉🥳💚 ————————————————- What I do to sell my art. 🎨 This is probably not the only or the very best way. But far I am really happy with my set up so far 🥰 ✅ Free Carrd site where I sell my originals + Linktree (does the job perfectly) My Carrd sites for an example, other example of my other business . HTTP://www.Sarlathideaway.carrd.co My link tree an example ✅ Ko-fi for gifs, commission and it has a shop! no crazy fees, 100% free! This is my link if you want to take a look https://ko-fi.com/responsiblymessyart ✅ set up a Stripe or PayPal account to collect money. PayPal cost (?) Stripes fees (around 5,5% ) ✅ I sell prints at Printumo. I have there my own shop in Printumo. They print & ship for you. Link here, check it out, and you are free to buy a print 😉❤️https://printumo.com/shop/messyart I make a photo of my artwork with my iPhone (16 pro) and upload it in Printumo as a TIFF file. ✅ Fair 50/50 galleries only (the ones that actually help you grow) I do not pay galeries. And only go 50/50 for galleries that really help me as an artist. I make my work 50 procent more expensive when it is in a gallery, so in the end it cost me 0. The work on my own site (other work, not the same as in the gallery)

@Nat Marcelle I’m no expert at selling but I often hear it said that collectors of art buy into the story of a piece but, more than that, the story of the artist themselves and what they are trying to say. If you were going to ‘invest’ in a piece of art (rather than just purchase something you like the look of) you’d want to be sure that artist is on a clear path and will produce more similar works that become sought after. That helps the resale value of earlier works.
Challenge! Show Up & Create
Most artists don’t fail because of talent. They disappear. So let’s fix that. New challenge: Show Up & Create → 3x per week→ for 30 days→ post whatever you made (finished or messy) Rules: - No perfection - No overthinking - Just proof you showed up - Miss a day? Don’t quit. Just continue. This is about becoming someone who creates. Not someone who waits. I’m in too. Who’s joining?

Today’s messy sketching. I limited myself to 2 minutes for one of them to force myself to keep it loose and instinctive. The time goes quicker than you expect but it’s a good exercise!

@Liza Glorius no these are from imagination, made up on the spot. No prep required, so it’s fun to just see what happens.
Half way done one of my short term goals
Hello everyone! One of my short term goals is to finish my Music portrait series. I am currently finished 3 of the 6 that I have planned. So far two of them seem to fit together well, but the third one was done on black paper with white charcoals. I'm not sure if I should keep it the way it is, or re do it on regular paper so it's a bit more cohesive. I'd love to hear your opinions. #1 Poly Styrene of X Ray Spex #2 Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age #3 Ian Curtis of Joy Division. The plan is to display them at a local music venue and sell prints. Thanks everyone!

@Gina DeMarco I think that’s shrewd. A consistent series will display really effectively together. Congratulations!
🌿 Community Spotlight
I want to take a moment to highlight someone who has been consistently shaping the energy of this space in a really meaningful way. @Jenny Warden has been showing up with presence, generosity, and momentum in this community. She’s one of the people who quietly makes things move forward here — through sharing, engaging, and contributing consistently. She’s been one of the top 1% contributors in terms of activity and support, and I really want to acknowledge that properly. So: thank you Janny ❤️ Your presence genuinely matters here. At the same time, I also want to acknowledge everyone who supports this space financially through Ko-fi. Those contributions help keep this group running, ad-free, and open for everyone. It directly sustains the work and energy that goes into maintaining it. Both types of support matter. Different forms, same impact. Going forward, I’ll be introducing a monthly (or more) a Community Spotlight — a simple way to highlight the people who help shape this space through their energy, ideas, and consistency. More of this soon. @Jenny Warden

Thanks @Valérie Van Kraaij for setting the tone and being so generous with your feedback and time. It makes this a really comfortable place for people to dip into and share, and that in turn is clearly appreciated by all. ❤️
