Summer adventure
Summer is here, and what are your plans for your enjoyment and setting up summer adventures? Are you venturing out on a lake or out on coastal waters? Going into faraway places and anchoring out for a day, a week, or even a month? What are your plans? Drop a note and let us know what adventures are ahead of you.

I am interested in getting a close look at our state's exploding seal population and their nemesis, the Great White.
End to End race
We are taking Honey Badger out this weekend to race in our 2 day "End to End race". Covering over 100 kilometres. Day 1 we go from Vernon Yacht club to Kelowna Yacht club then day 2 on to Penticton Yacht club. Looking forward to the race.

Sailing start
Where did you get your first taste of Sailing? Let me share mine - After traveling in Europe I went to the BVI and joined Jupiter ( a 58 ft ketch ). From there I moved onto a 40 ft Morgan ( Lady Ursa ). This was my start to a life long love of sailing. Tell us about your start?

In 6th grade my Dad shot a documentary for ABC News about the Pilgrims. Being an avid sailor he convinced his Boss to charter the Mayflower II from Plymoth Plantation for 2 days... along with a major ocean-going tug escort and, of course, an insurance policy to boot. As an extra, I was drawn to the experience that really changed my outlook on the sea and what it means to those of us who are adventurers at heart.
Racing vs Cruising
The art of sailing is to take the most energy from the wind to propel you top you desired goal. Weather racing or cruising the intent is the same. I always have said the fastest way to learn and become proficient in your sailing skills is to race. Racing is only going efficiently to the next mark while cruising is going efficiently to your next stop over.

I am really drawn to the Amerca's Cup races as the coverage is so good. It's hard for most to remember to search for Louis Vitton. I think I need to help with this aspect a lot more.
