Watercolors on a road trip.
I always have an art journaling "go bag". Today it was pocket sized water colors, small spray bottle, refillable water brush and a watercolor journal. We were driving to check out a camping site. I was inspired to just play with color. It felt so good! These will be used in collage and making tags for current journal projects. Have you had a play with watercolors lately? So fun!

My roommate keeps sending me shopping links with the tiny watercolor palettes in them. She’s not a creative, she just likes online shopping, lol. But I’ve always responded to her messages like that with “Yes, those look amazing, but will I have room/time for creating when I’m on errands” I live in East Tennessee so just driving to the store gives me mountain views. I wonder what it would be like to have a tiny watercolor palette and to create art for 10 minutes in the parking lot of Food City? 🤣🤣🤣 I think I’m going to try it!
Book binding...8 journals!
I love how a journal cover tells me what fabric and trims it wants. I love how each journal has its own personality. Today I upcycled thrifted clothes into book binding and loved the process! Flip-thrus coming soon!

Your pictures and posts are making my brain itch with creativity. It’s time for me to sit down and use all of those supplies I’ve been collecting. We’re expecting snow today and tomorrow, so it’s the perfect time for me to get busy.
From paper cut-offs to ephemera!
A bit of gluing, layering with vintage bits and some distress inks and paint water....and I now have PLENTY of ephemera bases, tuck spots, tags. Journaling cards, belly bands...for the THIRSTY journals recently created! Aren't these just delicious!! 💚🎨✂️📝✨️🙌

Love this!!! It makes creating so much fun and less intimidating to have embellishments already done and ready to pick from. Plus, mass-making is therapeutic for me, so it’s not uncommon for me to get hung up on one thing, like pockets or bookmarks, and make 30 of them, then move on to something else.
Harvesting vintage ledger & dictionary
I admire these vintage books and handle them until I can't help myself; breaking them down to create real, vintage ephemera and pages in 'junk journals'. Currently, I am mass creating ephemera and signatures (booklets made of various papers) to insert in vintage themed journals. I love seasonal projects, but always return to the "neutral" of vintage papers. When ai mass make, it stashes as bases to layer the themes onto with tags, journal toppers, and bits & bobs that give a journal personality. ✂️🎨📝💜✨️

I’ve begun collecting these if they have decent front and back covers on them. My hope is to eventually book bind them into journals that contain papers like the ones you’re Working with

@Heather Dennis I totally get that!
Projects this week: ❤️💚🎅🎁🌲
This week, I am putting finishing touches on Holiday themed pocket journals for gifts. Im making ephemera to tuck into pockets, adding journaling cards, decorating the pockets a bit and creating a 'book plate' for each journal cover. I am excited to share virtual tour of the journals soon! What is on your art table? Share pics (the messier the better!) In the comments! 🎨✂️📝✨️✨️✨️ My favorite ephemera was going through a massive pile of old holiday cards and giving the images a new life as tuck spots, clusters, flip outs, pockets and d bookmarks! 💚✨️❤️

My watercolors, my fussy cuts, my calligraphy practice sheets, a books of goodies from Journalsay, and a very considerate present from my best friend, a big pack of Tomoe River paper, unlined, so I can use it in my art and not only in a planner! I’m blessed.
