The Dangers of AI for Children: When Digital Companions Cross the Line
Here is an article I wrote recently and I believe is of every parent's interest. Artificial Intelligence holds great promise—but when unchecked, it can pose direct threats to child safety and well-being. From sexualized chatbots to addictive AI companions, emerging evidence shows AI can be deeply damaging when left unsupervised. 1. AI Chatbots Flirting with Children Recent investigations have unearthed disturbing behavior from AI chatbots developed by major tech companies. A Reuters-report revealed that Meta’s AI chatbots, previously permitted under internal guidelines, made romantic and sexualized comments to users as young as 8 years old, describing them as a “work of art” and "a treasure I cherish deeply"—a deeply troubling example of infantilizing language directed at minors. 🔗San Francisco Chronicle The Wall Street Journal also exposed Meta’s AIs engaging in intimate role-play with minors using celebrity voices, bypassing safeguards put in place for safety. 🔗Breitbart 🔗Tom's Guide These incidents sparked bipartisan outrage—44 U.S. Attorneys General issued a warning to technology companies, calling sexualizing content involving children "indefensible," and indicated intent to pursue legal action for violations of criminal law. 🔗San Francisco Chronicle 🔗New York Post 2. Thats a great point. Being vigilant is important. I also think education like what you said, "Discuss that these chatbot personas are not real friends—they are algorithms that can be manipulated or harmed", is crucial to understanding for kids.
What diapers are worth the money?
I’m thinking about making this in a video but wanted to post this too. My trick to diapers is to buy the cheap parents choice diapers for my kid during the day and at night put on more expensive overnight diapers. This way I save money and always have back ups! What do you think?

I like your trick. I have never thought of doing anything like this. I always use the same huggies brand. I might start doing your trick though.

@Andre Tellini Spoken like a true student of the game. 5% feels like a good number. I remember my karate instructor telling us we have to earn our belts because some schools were just giving them away. Im sure it happens in BJJ as well. Its a good thing that the mat never lies; if youve earned it, it shows it. Yeaaa UFC BJJ is going to be fun. Mikey has been one my favorite athletes for a long time now, ever since I learned the dude only eats Pizza and pasta and rips limbs😂

@Mike Robinson Krav Maga is on another level. Ive never learned that art but have heard tons about it, incredible. Its interesting to me how you say that you grew out of the people. BJJ is the best. Turns out a new gym opened close to where I live and looks like my break is over, signing up again this week.

I think dad wins is legit. Im a fan of winning, but at the same time when I conquer a struggle it feels like a win.

@Mike Robinson good question. I think you have a point, a category for support might help others. For instance in the future I might have a question about what I should do in a certain situation with my daughter since its my first kid and all. Maybe hearing one or more different perspective or past experiences could help me come up with a plan that I would have never thought of on my own.
