My first 'project'
Merry Christmas to all! So, I had so many issues simply trying to cast on with my Sentro 48. I finally gave up, donated it to Goodwill and bought an Addi King Express. Casting on was a breeze - I had about three false starts as I was somehow knitting in my yarn tail. Once I got everything figured out, I went to town with my first project. I have no idea what it is and there are some mistakes, but whatever it is, it's mine!

Casting on and first row errors
Hi all, I am brand new to my Sentro circular 48 machine. I finally removed it from the box this week; However, while the cast on method seems easy, I cannot seem to do it. There is one particular needed that won't funny grab the yarn - I've done and redone the cast one many times, but it always looks the same. Also, I am doing something wrong when I reach the white needle. Watching a YouTube video. I see we don't actually hook yarn under but instead, bring it under enough to thread through the yarn guide. Hopefully you can see from these photos what is happening.

Lost my mojo for knitting
Last night my oldest daughter (30) told me that they were going to move in January. That mean that my grandson will live more than 2000 km (1300 miles) away. My youngest, 18 in 2 days will move with them a few months later. My boys are already that far away for many years. I will try to enjoy the next few months and spoil them with nice cooking. It is a mixed feeling as I am sad to see them leave but it is a good opportunity for all of them. My daughter and son in law moved back three years ago (for 2 years). They have stayed 3 years and gave me a lovely grandson. I just have to count my blessing. Now I definitly need to knit that apple for my amazing son in law as he turn 30 in December. They were teenager sweetheart.

@Chris Muggleton I understand completely. Most of my friends could not take off and 'stalk' their grandchildren😂

Have you thought about knitting for a charity that helps children?

I am watching your very clear and easy to understand videos now. However, I am rethinking the Sentro as it is still in the box. I may return it for an Addi, which seems to be the preferred one I see in many groups

I live in Florida. I have just bought a flatbed and circular knitting machine - Used a flat board years ago, so anxious to start again.
