Rest is not a reward. IT'S A RIGHT!!!
🌙 Ladies,I want to talk about something that runs deep in so many of us — Last night I came down with a cold. This morning I was still going to go to work. And I know sometimes we have to... We say this bill gotta get paid. Right!!! But today for me I knew I could take the day off but, this guilt showed up. The guilt that shows up the moment your body asks you to stop. The voice that says "you should be doing something." The shame that creeps in when you're sick, exhausted, or simply depleted and you actually… listen to your body. That voice? That's not wisdom. That's conditioning. Many of us — especially women who've carried too much for too long — learned that rest had to be earned. That slowing down meant falling behind. That our worth lived inside our productivity. But your body is always speaking. And when it asks for rest, it is not being lazy. It is recalibrating. Healing. Rebuilding. Rest is the work. When you honor what your body needs — even when it's inconvenient, even when the to-do list is long — you are practicing sovereignty. You are choosing yourself. You are breaking a generational pattern that said your needs come last. Today I did that. I spoke to that part of me with a nurturing voice and said, You don't need to push yourself today. Rest!!! I gave myself permission to rest!!! So if you're sick right now, rest. If you're tired right now, rest. If you don't have a "reason" but your body is heavy — rest anyway. Your body will not betray you for listening to it. It will thank you. 💜 Drop a 💜 below if your body is asking for something today. Are you listening to it? Will you listen to it and give it yourself permissionto rest when needed? Let's hold space for each other here. If you feel called to comment, leave a comment.
