Spin progress
Quite happy with the amount of progress I've made with my spin. More revolutions and more speed compared to my video 3 months ago. Tips/pointers are welcome. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DInZXw6TJ9H/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

@Kathy Eldridge, I'm using wheels with 92a hardness(roll-line fox wheels). I believe grippy wheels won't impede your progress with spins, but you will definitely have less revolutions. I'm actually looking to get 97a wheels because I feel like 92a isn't slippery enough for the 1 foot spin(Real reason is I probably just suck).

@Kathy Eldridge practice, practice practice. It took me quite alot of attempts to get that good. Recording yourself and getting feedback will accelerate your progress, so i highly recommend it.
Excited to learn some new moves/tricks!

Toe toe spin
Learning 180 matrix
Hey! I've been trying for a few months to slowly learn the 180 matrix on my toes, after transitioning from forwards to backwards. I incorporate heel and toe flare drills to get my weight distribution better and try to get to the rink 2x a week, wish I could do more but my schedule is busy! I find that after I transition from front to backwards, I'm in a staggered stance, try to engage my core and when I'm about to try the 180 matrix I can't keep my toes and knees pointed inwards very well to do the move and return forwards. One foot is supposed to lead and the other should follow, however I end making a silly turn on my toes! Any tips are appreciated!

When you say 180 matrix, do you mean grapevine? The exercises in this tutorial helped me heaps - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id61g2kTiE8
Eagle spread transition backwards to forwards losing momentum
I can easily do forward>backward eagle spread transitions and have been doing these for a long time. But I struggle to maintain momentum when transitioning backward>forward, it's like I almost come to a rolling stop and only regain momentum once I have fully stepped onto the forward leg. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks

Same! I think it just be like that :( . I normally just do a scissor split transition to go back forwards
Spin progress
Hi everyone, Iโ€™m feeling stuck in my progress for spins. For those that can do a couple rotations consistently - how long did it take you to get there? For those that arenโ€™t there yet, how long have you been practicing?

It took me probs around 3 months trying real hard to get consistent 2-3 revolution heel toe spin. I made some pretty good progress after videoing myself and getting feedback. Spinning it tough, so you just gotta keep at it. Don't lose motivation!
