What do grass seeds looks like?
If you’ve had a dog with a grass seed - where did it happen? Ears? Feet? Somewhere surprising?? Yup. It’s grass seed season. Literally doing this once a day rn, sometimes more. This lovely, stoic dog barely flinched- but most dogs need sedation for this, especially when the seed goes in their feet. Who’s most at risk: dogs with hair around their ears and feet (*spaniels*) and who go into the long grass this time of year. The prevention: special ear covers, boots or just clip the hair between toes and at the entrance of the ear. Not guaranteed, but helps your chances of avoiding the pain and $500 vet bill. 😎 Have you had to deal with this? Tell us your story🫣

🏡🐶 DIY Health Check at Home Did you know you can pick up on changes in your dog’s health by doing a quick check at home? In this video, I’ll show you some simple things you can look at regularly, including their eyes, ears, teeth, skin, paws, and body condition. It only takes a few minutes and can help you spot potential problems early. 💛 Remember, you know your dog better than anyone. The more familiar you are with what’s normal for them, the easier it is to notice when something isn’t quite right. 👇 After watching, let me know in the comments: When was the last time you gave your dog a full health check?

Such a great post, I'll do one on vet exams - what we're looking for when we examine your dog. It may seem like we're not listening, but I'm actually counting heart rate using the clock on the wall or noticing something as we're talking. The examination is all about listening with your eyes and ears🤌😆

4th of July & Your Dog 🎆🧨🐶
Happy 4th to those in the 🇺🇸🎉! Growing up, this day was always so fun, it was about eating food cooked outside and blowing things up (it’s an 80’s-90’s thing, no judging 😆). Speaking of, if your dog might get stressed from the fireworks and fire crackers, you can: 1. Turn up ambient sounds in the house. Such as soft a.m. radio, white noise, soft classical music. If you’ve been getting them used to firework noises already, good on you 🤛🏽. 2. close the windows (flashes and lights) doors (sounds) and move them to the quietest room. 3. give them a safe space, a crate if that is their go-to 4. Ideally, keep them indoors 5. Make sure their microchip and collar tag info is up to date, in case they do try and run from the noise. 6. Use the medications prescribed from your vets for noise phobias, if you have them. And don’t forget to give them well before they’re needed. 7. If you can, stay with them through the loudest times. Be well, stay safe, Happy 4th and let’s try and remember what is being celebrated so that it can continue to be.

Friday roll call 📣
🐶 Friday Dog Roll Call! 🐾 We’ve made it through another busy week, so it’s time for the most important meeting on the agenda… introducing our four-legged coworkers! 😄 Drop a photo of your dog in the comments and tell us: 🐕 Their name 🎂 Their age 💛 Their funniest habit or biggest personality trait 📍 Bonus points: What are they up to right now? (Napping? Supervising? Begging for treats?) No dog? No problem! Share a photo of any pet or the animal you’d love to have one day. 🐾 Let’s end the week with wagging tails, happy faces, and a comment section full of furry friends. 🐶❤️
