What Keeps Customers Coming Back?
A customer trying your coffee once is great. A customer coming back every week is what builds a business. In your experience, what has the biggest impact on repeat customers? The quality of the coffee, customer service, atmosphere, pricing, convenience, or something else? I'm curious to hear what people have seen work in the real world.

What’s One Mistake You’d Avoid If You Opened a Coffee Shop Again?
A lot of people dream about opening a coffee shop, but I’ve noticed the biggest lessons usually come after opening, not before. Could be pricing, menu choices, staffing, location, branding, equipment, or even trying to do too much too early. If you could restart from day one, what’s one thing you’d do differently?

@Juan Rosenzweig Sounds like expectations weren’t fully aligned from the beginning. Do you think it was more about communication early on or things changing over time?

@Juan Rosenzweig From what I've seen, a lot of business owners focus heavily on the product but underestimate how much the customer experience impacts growth. Things like clear branding, an easy buying process, and consistent follow-up can make a bigger difference than people expect. It seems like many challenges trace back to systems and communication, whether it's with customers, staff, or partners.
What Actually Makes a Coffee Shop Survive?
Most people think opening a coffee shop is about location and vibes…but the real game is daily sales vs fixed costs. What do you think matters more for survival: branding or consistency in sales?

@Stacy Jeffries Jeffries Really impressive results in just 10 months! It’s clear that focusing on consistency and understanding your customers is paying off. I’m curious, have you thought about ways to scale faster or test new offerings without overcomplicating operations? I’ve worked with coffee shops to streamline this kind of growth and would love to brainstorm ideas with you if you’re open to it.

@Stacy Jeffries Jeffries Alright
Why Most Coffee Shop Ideas Never Make It Past Planning
A lot of people stay stuck at the “I want to open a coffee shop” stage for months or even years. Not because they lack ideas… but because they never turn the idea into simple numbers and daily operations. Things like:How many cups you need to sell daily just to break evenWhat your real monthly costs look likeAnd what happens on slow days (which always come) If you stripped the “dream” away and looked at the numbers first… would you still move forward with it?

@Juan Rosenzweig Exactly, that’s what makes it interesting. A lot of people fall in love with the idea of owning a coffee shop, but the day-to-day reality is a completely different game. Still, when it’s done right, I can see why people stay passionate about it. And thanks, I appreciate that. I’m based in Lagos currently.
