Marco Foyot still brings people wherever he plays and often despite not playing well! It never fails to amaze me how a few players bring 10x more viewers. Foyot is a great example, many people falling over themselves today to watch him play mediocre at best and the LIVE viewers when I filmed were big too. In comparison to much better games with say Bonetto, Sarrio and Montoro. I’ve seen this with Rocher, Quintais and Suchaud but I don’t see the same “Fan Boy” attitude with a lot of players. I’m learning more and more about YouTube and what makes channels get promoted to other viewers and lovers of the game of Petanque. Yesterday I played in the Yorkshire Singles at Stockton Fox, 5 game snake followed by last 8 knockout, my aim was to focus on pointing and only shoot when absolutely necessary as thats where my game is at present, I managed to win 4 out of 5 only losing 10-13 against a strong player in Rob Fox, my tactics worked I even had a few La Rafle style Carreau throughout my games, My opponent in the last 8 draw was Rob which I lost to 8, no trophy but I came away feeling confident and content with where my game is, onwards 🙂
