What’s been hardest about pricing or profitability?
Pricing and profit tend to be the most confusing parts of this business. What’s been hardest for you so far? Examples: - Knowing what to charge - Figuring out food costs - Understanding margins - Raising prices - Feeling busy but not profitable There’s no judgment here — just real discussion. Share what you’re stuck on, or what finally “clicked” for you.

When it comes to pricing your items, always make sure you're including all costs. That is everything from ingredients to packaging materials (containers, wrappers, etc.). Think also about sales tax, meals tax (if applicable), and event fees. Don't be afraid to readjust pricing as you test it out.
What types of locations or events have worked best for you?
Not all locations are created equal. Some look busy but don’t pay well. Others look slow but are surprisingly profitable. If you’ve operated already: - What types of locations or events have worked best for you? - What hasn’t worked? If you’re still planning: - What kinds of locations are you considering or confused about? Let’s compare notes.

I've done everything from big local festivals to short school events. They each have their pros and cons. Consistency is very tough in the event industry. When just starting out, it was and still is important to try all types of events. Think of it more about marketing and getting visibility and people trying your food, than always thinking every event has to generate huge sales.
What’s your biggest challenge right now?
If you could get help with one thing right now, what would it be? Examples: - Pricing your menu - Understanding permits - Finding good locations - Getting booked for events - Managing costs - Knowing what to focus on first Drop your biggest challenge below — chances are someone else is dealing with the same thing.

A challenge I have is scaling the business. I'm seeing growth year over year but need to find ways to grow the business constantly. I'm always looking to meet new connections and try out new festivals or events I've done before. Outreach is also important. I'm always trying to reach out to more and more potential opportunities and contacts every year.
Share a recent win (big or small)
Wins don’t have to be huge to matter. It could be: - Your first event - Your first booking - A great service day - Learning something important - Avoiding a mistake Share a recent win or lesson — it helps build momentum and gives others encouragement.

If you were starting today, what would you do differently?
If you were starting your mobile food business from scratch today, what’s one thing you would do differently? It could be: - A decision you rushed - Something you overpaid for - A mistake you wish you’d avoided - Or something you’re glad you did early If you’re still in the planning phase, flip the question:👉 What’s the part you feel most unsure about right now?
