What scares you the most about getting older?
Getting older brings a lot of changes. It is something we all experience differently. The thing I hear the most at the nursing home I work is 'I never thought I would end up like this'. When you think about aging, what honestly worries or scares you the most? It’s not always easy to talk about, and there’s no right or wrong answer here. If you feel comfortable sharing, I'd really like to hear your thoughts.

I think being unable to care for myself. I am very committed hiring people to help me. Ending up in a nursing home scares me. I have some family and friends that would visit me- but no kids or family, relatives who would be proactive for me.

@Allison O'Shea - I do have a person who helps me 3 hours a week. I say she cleans for me- but actually does more. Today she is coming and putting together an exercise machine I just bought. She helps with projects too. Sometimes we don’t need as much cleaning help- but help with projects.
Mobility is Your Biggest Asset as You Age.
It’s not about intense workouts or pushing your limits — it’s about protecting the ability to move through your life on your terms. Getting up from a chair. Walking confidently without fear of falling. Staying in your own home longer. At the beginning of 2026, I’ll be sharing a conversation with a physical therapist focused on mobility, independence, and the small things that make the biggest difference as we age — long before a problem becomes a crisis. This week, I’m sharing a short video on why mobility is one of the most overlooked — and most powerful — assets you have as you get older. If staying independent matters to you, this January conversation is one you won’t want to miss.

I heard one physical therapist say that stairs actually help people stay mobile longer. You exercise the legs a lot more.
Launch Day Is Here!
Today is the day! I am so excited! We will be live tonight at 6pm est. Don't worry if you can't make it, it will be recorded. Since we are growing this will be an intimate opportunity to get to know each other. I also want to encourage everyone to invite friends so they can be a part of the group!

Where will we meet? Will it be a zoom link? Or is there something in this app to meet?
WELCOME!
Welcome!!! I am so excited you are here. This community is going to grow right before our eyes and I can't wait to meet everyone. To start please watch the video in the classroom section. On October 1st I will be walking through the program and how best to engage and get the information you want. I can't thank you enough for taking a leap of faith and joining me here. Please introduce yourself and where you live so we can start our conversations.

Hi, I am Patti. Live in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I have been researching on my own about aging in place. I am a widow and have no children. I have been trying to build my community on my own- so I give and receive.
