Finding community. Being heard. Feeling seen. (ATA Newsletter)
Good Monday all, These 2 paragraphs are from the ATA newsletter. I read it and thought: I must share this with you all! So take 1 minute to read this yourself. šŸ™ The assumption that tinnitus is the same for everyone may be one of the most consequential misconceptions surrounding the condition. When the gap between mild and severe tinnitus goes unacknowledged, people struggling at the more severe end of the spectrum can find themselves feeling more alone. Two people can be diagnosed with tinnitus and be experiencing something entirely different. This is why community, raising awareness of tinnitus and its complexity, and simply being there for others who are struggling matter. šŸ’™ Hope we all have a better week then the last one! Guy.

This is great!
This tinnitus story hit closer than I expected...
I came across a tinnitus story today from a 16-year-old, published by the American Tinnitus Association. And even though she’s much younger than most of us, I found parts of her experience very familiar. Especially this part: šŸ‘‰ the moment when it hits you that the sound might not go away šŸ‘‰ the fixation šŸ‘‰ the feeling of loss Those are things I hear from people of all ages. What I liked about her story is not that it’s ā€œperfectā€ or that it gives all the answers… But that it shows something important: šŸ‘‰ people can go from a very dark place… to re-engaging with life again If you read it, don’t compare your situation to hers. Just see if any part of it resonates with your own experience. One important thing I would add from my own experience is that the middle part of the journey is where most people get stuck — and that’s where the right tools really matter. šŸ“” Here’s the story if you’d like to read it: https://www.ata.org/about-tinnitus/understanding-the-journeys-personal-stories-of-managing-tinnitus/cindys-journey/

Wow, I didn't realize kids can be affected by tinnitus. Don't know why. Just always thought of it as an adult problem. Inspiring story!
You’re Not Supposed to Ignore Tinnitus (That's Why You’re Stuck)
Trying to ignore tinnitus is exactly what’s keeping you stuck. There’s a reason your brain keeps going back to it. This will finally make sense. šŸ’” As a follow up to the great workshop we had last weekend about the Tinnitus Attention Loop, and my follow up post from last Sunday, here is the video version of my post. This video is EXCLUSIVLY available on to this community for the next 2 hours. After that, it'll be published on YouTube. I’d love your feedback — either here or directly on the video (don't forget to šŸ‘ the video). If you want help applying this to your situation: šŸ“… Book a free 1-on-1 Relief Strategy Session. Let’s create a personalized plan that fits you. šŸ‘‰ https://go.yourtinnitusguy.com/tinnitus-strategy-session Warm regards, Guy.

The other post was similar to this. When people get this, they get better! It really does change everything. Another great video Guy!
Thoughts that help me…
Sound is happening…and nothing bad follows. Let it be there or not…I’m not getting involved. The less importance your brain assigns to the sound, the faster it fades into the background of your life. This is meaningless…ignore it like background noise. It can stay… I’m still doing what I’m doing. It’s louder today, that happens I’m not getting involved. The sound is not worth my attention.

Hey everyone, another listing option for you
@Guy Cohen remains persistent helping us out. I know reduced stress and more sleep is what I need. To that end, I have been reducing stress through playing calm (sometimes not calm) piano pieces. These are pieces I made up. I started collecting them in a playlist on YouTube. I hope you enjoy them! For me, I selected the Wins category because getting this started and being consistent was a win.
