I Analyzed 50 Failed Businesses Here's What Killed Every One
Many new businesses fail within the first five years because of common blind spots that founders do not see coming. This video breaks down the eight major business killers, including running out of cash, doing things in the wrong order, and building on rented land. You will hear the story of how Sam Walton lost his very first store because he only rented the building, and how his wife Helen pushed him to start over and build a massive global company. By learning from these mistakes, you can protect your cash flow, solve real problems for people who can afford your services, and create a solid foundation that you fully control.

Running out of cash is the one on that list that catches the most founders off guard — because it sneaks up on profitable businesses. I work with founders on this all the time. The first move is getting a quick, clear picture of where you actually stand — not what your P&L says, but what's moving in and out and when. From there we look at two levers: speeding up revenue (getting invoices out faster, tightening payment terms, following up on what's owed) and pushing payments out where you reasonably can. Neither is a magic fix, but together they can buy real breathing room — as long as the underlying business is healthy. The bigger shift is just making cash flow the number you watch alongside profit, not instead of it. For growing businesses especially, learning how both work and how they interact with each other is how you actually run things properly. Most founders who get into trouble aren't bad at business — they just never had both dials in front of them at the same time.
