New to STR & strIQ
My husband, Artem, and I are based in The Woodlands, TX, and are jumping into the STR business for the first time. Along with our three kids, we’ve driven through and seen almost every corner of 49 states 🚗 🏕️ (just missing Alaska). We are currently at Stage 2 of our journey. We’ve decided that STRs are definitely for us and are ready to start building a portfolio that we can grow across multiple states. Right now, we’re focused on getting our financing ready, defining our "buy box," and identifying our target markets. Our 90-Day Target: Analyze 40–60+ properties, create a buy box of 5-6 the best properties, and submit our first offer(s). In the best-case scenario, close on our very first STR! The biggest thing holding us back right now: absence of knowledge and experience with STR. We're on the learning stage of the process. Happy to be here!

@Emily Fournier Thank you! I originally came to strIQ with markets in mind that my family and I love to visit—mountains, cozy park towns, beach cities, and ski resorts. However, after two weeks of analyzing different variables, I’m realizing that maximizing cash-on-cash return might lead me toward very different locations.

@Matt Sanderson Thanks! It was nice to meet you and your team too. After visiting 49 states, every one of my future itineraries seems to revolve around National Parks. Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton are at the very top of my must-visit list, so Montana is definitely a priority. Regarding Broken Bow, I’m coming to the conclusion that for our first STR, we would need one large cabin rather than four small ones with a huge lot. :) I'll keep looking!
