📯 Symbolic Literacy - Context Changes the Meaning
Sometimes the useful signal is the answer you give when everyone else answers differently. Today I noticed myself choosing the opposite side of several business questions from most of the room: Freedom over growth. Control over delegation. Purpose over profit. At first glance, that could look rigid. But context changes the meaning. I chose freedom because I do not want growth that consumes all of my attention. I chose control because the work is not yet self-sufficient, and I do not currently have someone who can carry the standard the way I need it carried. I chose purpose because profit is not worth much to me if it requires me to violate something integral. The point was not to prove my answers were right. The point was to notice what they revealed. Sometimes contrast clarifies value. Sometimes being the outlier simply shows you where your current boundaries actually are. Observe the answer. Reflect on the context. Notice the value underneath it. Different is not automatically wrong. It may just be information.

I like the way you pointed out that context changes the meaning. Sometimes being different isn’t about being right or wrong, but about understanding what matters to you. 💛
🌿 Symbolic Literacy -REST
Rest is not the opposite of movement. Sometimes rest is what lets movement become intelligent again. Without pause, we can confuse urgency for direction. Without stillness, we can miss what the body is already saying. Rest gives us a place to notice: What is tired? What is ready? What is asking for caution? What still has life in it? The goal is not permanent stillness. It is enough quiet to hear the difference between avoidance, recovery, readiness, and genuine desire. Sometimes the next movement becomes clear only after we stop trying to force it. Rest does not remove agency. It returns us to it. Observe. Rest. Listen. Then move from what is actually here. 🌱📜

I really like this perspective on rest. Sometimes slowing down is exactly what helps us see what the next step should be.
The Plumb Line
Composure is not stiffness. Aplomb is not performance. Sometimes alignment is quieter than we expect. It doesn’t always announce itself through intensity or spectacle. Sometimes it looks like steadiness. Sometimes it looks like not needing to prove. Sometimes it looks like returning to center without hardening. The plumb line does not force alignment. It reveals it. A calmer, braver, wiser you. A more aligned you. A brighter world.

I really like the idea of the plumb line simply revealing alignment rather than forcing it. Sometimes being steady and returning to center can say more than trying to prove anything. 💛
Symbolic Literacy - Rest
Last night, the Wi-Fi would not cooperate. I tried. I checked. I waited. I accidentally sat on live in silence while my book cover and hair moved in the background. 😆 Eventually, I had to let it go. No more forcing. No more troubleshooting. No more trying to make the moment become something it wasn’t. I rested. By morning, the connection was holding again. Sometimes rest is not giving up. Sometimes it is recognizing when continued effort is no longer useful. You lay the problem down, allow the conditions to shift, and return when there is actually something new to work with. Rest can be part of the solution.

This is such a good reminder Sometimes we keep pushing because we feel like we have to fix things right away, when stepping back is actually what we need. “Rest can be part of the solution” really stood out to me. 💛
