7 Mistakes I'd NEVER Make Again Publishing Children's Books on Amazon KDP
If I could go back almost 5 years and start my children's book publishing business all over again, there are quite a few things I would do differently. And some of those mistakes cost me a LOT of time and money! For example, did you know I spent around $500 on Amazon Ads when I published my first children's book and only made TWO book sales?! Yep. That was a painful lesson to learn. But after years of publishing children's books on Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and beyond, I've learned what works, what doesn't, and what I would never do again. So, in this week's YouTube video, I'm sharing 7 mistakes I'd NEVER make again as a self-published children's book author! Whether you're working on your first book or you've already published several, I hope these lessons save you some time, money, and frustration. And let me know in the comments if you've made any of these mistakes yourself! I promise you're not alone.

@Deb Hockenberry Hello
From Agricultural Research to Sharing Knowledge
I have a friend in Africa who is working to improve his agricultural trials and research workflow. He wants to share his experiences, practical lessons, and agricultural research activities with a wider audience through TikTok. I'm happy to share that he has finally launched his TikTok account! 🎉 It's always encouraging to see people take steps toward sharing what they learn and making useful knowledge accessible to others. If you're interested in agriculture, research, or learning about practical farming activities, feel free to check out his account. https://www.tiktok.com/@agrisciencehub4?_r=1&_t=ZS-9AnGpUyTiVA If you find his content useful, a follow, like, or share would mean a lot. I truly appreciate your support! 🙏 I'm curious: Have you ever used social media to document your work, share what you're learning, or connect with people who have similar interests? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Framework Question: Adapting STEM Picture Books for Agricultural Science (Ages 4-8)?
Hello Authors, My background is in open agricultural research documenting trials on soil amendments, small ruminants, and gastropod farming for smallholder systems. I am now exploring a pivot: converting this longitudinal field data into evidence-based STEM picture books for ages 4-8. Working Concepts in Development: 1. Sammy the Snail: A Farm Cycle Story Life cycle and calcium needs (grounded in my calcined shell trials) 2. Counting with Woolly Early numeracy through sheep flock management and feed rationing 3. Soil is Hungry Too Soil microbiology and organic amendments explained via metaphor My Questions for This Academy: For those who have successfully commercialized STEM/educational kidlit: 1. Does the Academy's picture book framework adapt well to technical, non-fiction STEM topics, or does agri-STEM require a different narrative structure? 2. For data-driven stories, what is the market preference right now: narrative non fiction (factual story) or fictionalized concept book? 3. What is your process for simplifying complex science without compromising factual accuracy for educators? My goal is to create books that meet educational standards for schools while remaining engaging for trade market. Happy to provide agricultural accuracy review in return for craft mentorship. Looking forward to learning from you all.

[NEW Video] What to Do If Your Amazon KDP Children's Book Isn't Selling
Published your children’s book on Amazon KDP but the sales just aren’t coming in? You might not have a sales problem. You might have a visibility problem. In my newest YouTube video, I’m breaking down the simple things you can start doing every week to get your children’s book in front of more potential buyers WITHOUT relying on ads.

@Harleigh Manske This is a really helpful perspective. I like the point about visibility because a good book can easily get overlooked if the right people never discover it. I’ll definitely check out the video. What’s the first visibility step you’d recommend focusing on each week?
