A quick reminder for everyone… You do not have to be perfect to make progress. Maybe your nutrition wasn’t great this week.Maybe you missed a few workouts.Maybe life got busy. Proud of trying spin again. Didn’t love it but didn’t hate it either. This week I am going to focus on taking a lunch break. Not a lunch on the go/run break an actual sit, chat, visit and enjoy lunch break. May even try to get to the staff room!
Take advantage of a rainy Sunday!
Am I the only one who finds a rainy Sunday kind of motivating? There’s something about sitting inside while it’s pouring rain that makes me want to plan out the week, get organized, set some goals, and get ready to attack Monday. Now… if it’s raining like this on a Tuesday when I’ve got a million things to do, that’s a completely different story 😂 Anyone else enjoy a rainy Sunday, or are you already wishing the sun was out? ☔️👇

Personally Sundays are always my get things done and organized for the week day. Meal prep, schedules and such. Today I’d love to see the sun!
Good start!
This morning I tried to put the excuses, stress, and mental fatigue aside and signed up for spin class. Honestly, I could have easily stayed in bed. Nobody would have known. Nobody would have blamed me. But I got up and went anyway. And it was one of the best decisions I’ve made all week. Now I feel energized, my head is clear, and I’m ready to deal with whatever bullshit gets thrown at me today 😂 Sometimes the hardest part is just showing up. The workout itself is the easy part. Question for everyone: What’s one thing you’ve been putting off lately that you know would make you feel better if you just did it? Drop it below and let’s keep each other accountable. 👇

This is such a great reminder. Showing up really is the hardest part, and you proved that to yourself this morning. Even though it feels silly, I’ve been putting off painting and freshening up my bathroom for the longest time. I keep telling myself I don’t have the energy for it, but I know from past projects that once it’s done, the feeling is total euphoria. This might be the nudge I need.

@Tricia Hashie hopefully the nicer weather will help. Everything is better when the sun shines.
Sometimes life is overwhelming
Alright, I owe you all a post. I haven’t been very active in here for the last week. I have my excuses, but at the end of the day they’re still excuses. Last weekend we were in Halifax for basketball. My kids will always come first, and I wouldn’t change that for anything. At the same time, I’m in the middle of building a 9-unit apartment building in O’Leary. It’s by far the biggest project I’ve ever taken on. Some days it’s exciting, and some days it’s overwhelming and draining. And don’t even get me started on dealing with banks. 😂 On top of that, I have a friend in the hospital right now who isn’t doing very well. That’s been weighing pretty heavily on me too. The reason I’m sharing all of this is because every one of us has stuff going on. Work stress. Family responsibilities. Financial pressure. Health concerns. Life doesn’t stop just because we’re trying to get healthier. It’s easy to tell ourselves we’ll get back on track when things settle down. The reality is things rarely settle down. There will always be something demanding our attention. What I’ve reminded myself this week is that taking care of my health isn’t something I do when life gets easier. It’s something I need to do so I can handle life when it’s hard. So this is me being accountable. I’m back. I’m focused. And I’m going to keep working on getting a little better every day, even when life is messy. I’d love to hear from you. What’s one thing you’re dealing with right now, and what’s one thing you’re still doing to move yourself forward despite it?

Aaron, I really appreciate you sharing this—there’s a lot of honesty in it, and it hits home. I’ve been feeling something similar with aging parents and a pretty hectic stretch at work lately. It can be a lot to carry at once. What I’m trying to remind myself is that if I don’t carve out time for me, I can’t show up the way I want to for the people who depend on me most. So even when things feel messy, I’m still trying to protect that time and keep moving forward.
Night time snacking,
Hey folks This is my struggle, eating at night. What do you guys all do at night when it comes to snacking. When do you stop eating for day?, What is best snacks to have or things to drink that will curve your appetite. This is one of my biggest challenges. I have mastered the cleaner eating during the day but I could always eat right before bed. I try water with some eltrolytes and black coffee. Any advice would be greatly appreciated .

I agree the more protein I have during the day the less I feel hungry at night. Lots of water helps too. Chewing gum helps too. Also I feel it’s about breaking habits. 21 days to break a habit.
