🪪 Think ID renewals are a nightmare? Think again!
My husband needed a new ID card, and my stepson turned 16. Time for his first ID and passport renewal. We braced ourselves for delays especially with my stepson's biological mother not living close to us. She had to visit a Home Affairs branch where she lived. Photos and fingerprints at two different offices. This can only have one ending... someone is going to get highly frustrated. But here’s what actually happened: ⏱️ Expected: ID (2–8 weeks), Passport (7–21 days) ✅ Reality: ID in 20 days, Passport in 7 days! And this is what made the difference: 1. We used an agent to make the online booking — small fee, totally worth it. 2. We booked at a bank branch — neat, on time, and extremely helpful. 3. We received SMS and email updates every step of the way — from application received, to ready for collection, to collected. 👏 Well done, Department of Home Affairs! Efficient, transparent, and stress‑free. Takeaway: Don’t dread your ID or passport renewal. With the right booking and a bank branch, it can be smooth sailing.

What an Incredible Day at the JHB IRL!
Wow, what a day we had yesterday at JHB’s IRL! I got to meet @Thozamile Mnguni from The Modern DJ Academy and DJ Accelerator, and also @Madria van der Spuy from The Milk Paradox. We had such great conversations about Skool—what an awesome platform it is—as well as our communities, YouTube, podcasts, family life, and the journey of building and learning on Skool. A huge thank you to everyone @Brian Jewell & @Maritsa Kyriazis & @Donivan Boshoff who joined and shared their knowledge and expertise. The energy in the room was incredible! I can already see some amazing collaborations happening in the future. Thanks to all the awesome organizers, and a special shoutout to @Cindy Greeff & @Zak King from Skool IRL: South Africa for the amazing initiative.
