My first edited long form video
I think this is something I'm proud to say I started on. It can definitely be better but I just uploaded and got 200 views and 12 likes but took it down and reuploaded because retention wasn't very high. Most people would only watch the first 30 seconds. So hopefully this version does better. Let me know what you think!

How to tell a good story in a youtube short
With over 30 million views on a single YouTube short, Andy Jiang has mastered the art of short story telling. Let's dive in and see how we can replicate his videos.
What makes this video bad?
I don't mean to diss on anyone but there's definitely a lot of components not ideal for this video to get views. That being said, how do you make this video better? Let me know by posting a comment below!

I really think there isn't a hook for this video. The title is shown immediately and ruins the surprise effect for the hook. I also don't like the discord sound effect that audience would mistake for their own discord. There's also the "Monkey Spinning Monkeys" song overused back in 2014. I really feel like hitting the biker naturally would be a hook. If it was just that, then skip to the next clip of the guy yelling, that would probably be really funny on its own. There's two scenes here but it's shown as one long continuous clip which could also bore the audience and make them skip.
Mr. Beast Book
https://screencraft.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/David-Mamet-Memo.pdf This is the Mr. Beast handbook he gives to his employees. Regardless of how you feel about him, he still gets more views than you and you can always learn from someone ahead of you.

Let's Learn From This:
I cannot describe how amazing this video is at storytelling...Oh wait, that's what we do lol. Let me know what you think this creator did right and what you want to take away from this video.

I think the hook right off the bat is interesting. This goes in the purpose driven entertainment category. He starts off by introducing the new mob in the game and then introducing a problem. The problem itself is one that no one really even cares about because most people never play adventure mode. The thing that keeps people’s attention is the pacing of the video. He’s not showing one continuous clip. He’s changing the scenes every 3-5 seconds of the entire video while stating the lows and highs. He tells possible solutions that won’t work and some quips thrown in. Then he finally ends the video with a satisfying high and a joke. He doesn’t try to be a comedian, rather he tells a visually appealing story that appeals to brain rot lol. I think the pacing of this video is something I learned I need to do going forward with my youtube shorts. I also just realized the amount of time he spent to make this video is insane. There's so much footage and editing to go through such as fishing the minecart all the way to the creaking. I think that's also another reason why people would enjoy it because it saves the time of someone trying to test out his theory himself and it makes the viewer appreciate the uploader more.

@Don Inkster It's interesting you say that. Minecraft videos itself get so many views that even a redstone creator can get millions of views for one basic thing like Fed X did.
