confusing
im sorry if you have heard this story before, but im still confused. i have a friend who is male, and we get along really well. He's always there for me etc and listens, but never shares anything with me. I mean when I ask what he has been doing, i get no answer, but i will share everything i've been doing and who i met, everything. I feel its a control thing from him, but others may say thats his personality. I have said just last week, 'how come you don't share anything, you just deflect when i ask a question'? he said he's very private. But it feels unfair and unbalanced. He knows everything i think, feel and do, but i know nothing about him. The reason im still friends with him is we can talk about spiritual things, and he's sensitive, and will be there for me if i need someone to talk to etc. I also like listening though, so it just feels confusing. Last time he called, i shared nothing, i mirrored how he is, and i feel very closed now towards him. if anyone can read this situation please let me know. thanks

Dependent
What’s the best way to deal with people who are needy and dependent. My mum is emotionally dependent and I have clients like that Is it my job to fill my mums cup? Im trying to help myself and she’s always been like this Im not heartless so I feel guilty if I don’t want to visit her

@Spring R yeah true .. If someone told me something that made them uncomfortable I’d like it cause I can learn and improve, if I cared about the friendship

How Long do You Need to Heal Trauma For?
I was on a call a couple days ago and somebody asked me an excellent question: "Calvin, so how long should I heal my trauma for?" Their goal is to heal a certain type of trauma. That's it. I said, "Well I do it every day but that's because I am trying to get 100% benefit out of trauma healing. As it is what I help people with, but for you I would say the 80/20 rule is 20% effort that gets you 80% of the results that you want. It is to just heal your trauma for two or three months minimum and heal it by 50% because to get to a nice milestone, that's what I would suggest for you." They said, "That makes sense." And yeah I thought I'd make a post about it. How long does everyone need to heal their trauma for? I would say if you want to use the 80/20 rule here, which I recommend for most people honestly is to think to yourself: "What is the 20% effort in terms of trauma healing that will give me 80% of the results that I want?" Maybe it's just a two-month period where you commit to doing the healing every single day. That would be the biggest thing for you if you suffered tremendously with family, for instance, or some bullying incidents and other things of that nature. The 20% effort of healing it for a couple of months to three months will really help you. For the maximisers here I would say since we all have thousands of these small traumatic events, you could continue doing it daily for years on end. That's what I definitely see myself doing if not for the rest of my life but it's hard to think really that long down the road. Who knows what will happen? Anyways hope this answered your question.
