LONG POST ON CONSTIPATION
“Why Your Bowel Isn’t Moving (Yet)” A HOARP Guide to Understanding Motility in the 42-Day Reset Understanding bowel motility through hydration, minerals, rhythm, and the nervous system Dr Lisa Osteo | HOARP Reset 🌿 TRUTH MOST PEOPLE MISS 💬 Let’s start here… If your bowel hasn’t changed yet… it does NOT mean the program isn’t working. It means: 👉 Your body is still coming back online ⚠️ Bowel motility is NOT controlled by one thing. It depends on: - Your nervous system - Your hydration (inside your cells) we work on this week 2. - Your mineral balance (still building) - Your microbiome (week 3) - Your daily rhythm - Your body structure 👉 This is why everyone responds differently. 🌿 YOUR BOWEL HAS A CLOCK ⏰ Your gut runs on a circadian rhythm Your body is designed to empty in the morning Morning (5am–9am): - Cortisol rises - Colon contracts - Body prepares to eliminate Daytime: - Digestion + absorption Evening: - Repair mode - Motility slows 🌅 What supports this natural rhythm? - Morning sunlight (eyes + skin) - Early movement (walking is powerful) - Eating earlier in the day 👉 Miss this window = harder to go later 🌿 ANCIENT WISDOM MATCHES MODERN SCIENCE 🕰️ Chinese Medicine Organ Clock - Large Intestine: 5am–7am 👉 This is your prime elimination window 🚫 What blocks this? - Sleeping in late - Rushing mornings - Skipping breakfast - No movement - Stress from the moment you wake 💡 Reframe: Your bowel is not “lazy” It may simply be out of rhythm 🌿 WHAT ACTUALLY CREATES A BOWEL MOVEMENT ⚙️ Think of this as a chain reaction A bowel movement requires: 🧠 1. Nervous System (THE DRIVER) - “Rest and digest” must be ON - Stress = immediate shutdown 💧 2. Hydration (INSIDE the body) - Water alone is not enough - Minerals pull water into the bowel 👉 No minerals = dry, slow stool 🧂 3. Minerals (THE SPARK PLUG) Your bowel needs: - Magnesium → relaxation + rhythm - Potassium → electrical signalling - Sodium → fluid movement - Chloride → digestion + hydration - Calcium → contraction

Thanks Lisa. very interesting. Im usually clockwork in the morning but Since taking the chloride the last two nights Im more bloated and constipated - havent gone at all (sorry for the overshare everyone!) - guess thats the gut getting used to new things. Going to make the chicken broth today.

@Lisa Vaughan good question...i was going to jump on today and ask about that. Yes Im taking magnesium, fish oil, creatine and berberine. Still have no movement - feeling terrible today. So bloated and sore.
Week 1 starts 4 May
This image will explain what week one of the program is all about. Using Progurts mineral chloride formula we start with priming the digestive system. Opening the gates as it were. All you have to do is to take 5mL of the mineral formula each night in 250mL water before bed. Sip slowly and for better taste you can have it in sparkling mineral water with a squeeze of lemon juice. If you REALLY hate the taste add some maple syrup or something a little sweet. You will get accustomed to the taste. Each week I will add information to the CLASSROOM section for you to read so as to understand the WHY.
