Hey y'all! 🌍 I'm Nick, and I live in Denton, TX (30 minutes north of Dallas/Fort Worth) 🎵 I've been playing bass on and off for the last 16 years or so - took a long break while I went to college for a music degree as a percussionist, kinda picked it back up about 8 years ago when I started learning electric/acoustic guitar, then have been playing in my church worship band 1-2 times a month ever since. I feel like I have the basics down, but would love to apply my understanding of music to the fretboard more fluently! 💡 I figure this community would be a great place to get pointers on what concepts or skills to practice and master next; and I certainly hope I can provide encouragement and, on occasion, a different perspective that might help someone have that "aha" moment on something, given my experience as a marching band director, jazz drummer, and musician outside of the specifics of bass guitar! 📸 My current bass is an Ibanez SR205EDX 5-string active bass, with some DR Black Beauty strings (I think it really pops!) 𖫲🎸 My favorite bassist is difficult to answer. In the context of a band, would probably have to be Mickey Madden (Maroon 5). Songs About Jane was is one of my all time favorite albums. But I am amazed and inspired by Victor Wooten. So musical, man
