Hello
Im currently about to move to Illinois from Indiana. Not a permanent move but temporary. Nonetheless, my goal is to be in a position to buy some where 25+ arces of land. Not sure where yet but by learning more about homesteading i think it will help me determine a where id like to buy. Glad to be here and looking forward to learning more.

Out of control forest fire!
It is with sad news that I have to tell you that my little off grid paradise has been swallowed up by the raging forest fire running rampant here. I did manage to get my animal menagerie out. They are homes at my friend’s farm. There is nothing left.

Oh man that is tough card to be dealt. Thats something i have wondered about with choosing where to buy land as some areas are more likely to have fires then others. Glad to hear you were able to save the animals
