Using the Calendar
@Harleigh Manske I noticed the calendar tab and the calendar is empty. Is this something the team can use for special events. Such as a book launch? or something?
Launch Team
Hello writers! I'm looking for people to join the launch team for my children's book Princess Lyria's Last Collection. It is being released on March 31 and I'd like to have people read and review the ebook before the launch date. Would you be interested in joining? You'd be sent the book a few days before the launch and would leave a review on Amazon to help it reach more readers. If you're interested, I would really appreciate it! You can sign up here if you'd like to join and then I'll email you the ebook when it is available: https://stats.sender.net/forms/e73Bz8/view

Pen Name Advice
Does anyone have advice on pen names? I’m a bit torn currently because I actually go by my middle name as my first and last name are common. I could use my middle name but unfortunately it’s spelled like wine and so I don’t know if that’s fitting for a children’s book. I have also thought of making a publishing company name but idk I’m over-researching and digesting content 🤣

I am currently using my first initial and middle name as my pen name. I ideas for other books that are more controversial and political. So I want to keep my audiences separated as much as possible.
Hi there.
My name is Ainsley Bloomfield. I'm a children's book illustrator who works entirely in ink and watercolor. I have written two of my books, "The Story of Marlin, the Cat" and "Greycat's Alphabet" as well. I'm excited to learn marketing techniques that will enable me to leave my job and go full-time with my artwork. In addition to children's book illustration, I have a fairly successful local card and print business, but my website that I used to support it crashed over Christmas, and I have not focused on rebuilding it yet because I have a book coming out for America 250. The last few months have been quite an adventure for me and have seen my creativity and endurance pushed to the limit, as well as helping me decide what is and isn't important for the future. I'd be especially interested in connecting with other traditional illustrators. Cheers!

Welcome Ainsley. I took a look at one of your books. https://www.amazon.com/Story-Marlin-Cat-Ainsley-Bloomfield/dp/B0F7CCC8NY It looks fantastic.
In-person event experience
Hey all, I just did my first in-person event a couple days ago and it was such a wonderful experience! I'm pretty introverted so I wasn't sure what to expect but everybody that came by my table was so kind and supportive. There was one kid in particular who would not let her mom leave without getting my book. It was really encouraging especially since she was the first child, outside of my own children, to read my book! I'm curious to hear about in-person events have gone for others.

@Carlisle Rice I am planning with my next book to do some events. My hesitation is reading to children. I have done corporate presentations to adults. That was fine. But children scare me :). Congratulations on taking the risk.
