Thanks for challenging me to read the 5 chapters of the Word daily. My peace.
Testimony Time
Amazing News!!! @Kimberlie Bostick has been praying and believing to move out of her current situation. She’s living with her mother in law and her husbands side of the family and it’s no longer comfortable. Well- it’s DONE. not only did she move out but people started to donate so much that she got her first months rent for free. She is living on the water and her husband and son loves the new place. Their own space. God is so good. If he did it for Kimberlie, God will do it for you. Honestly the bigger testimony is what God has done and is doing inside of her. She’s a totally different person and it’s rubbing off on her family but I’ll let her share those things if she wants.

Bible Reading
Hey I’m curious. Who all is doing the Bible reading with me? How has it been for you? Are you reading everyday? Are you ahead in your reading or behind? I’m trying to race one or two people 😅 I’m like on February 18th and not slowing down. Seriously though I need the word, I’m not rushing. I’m rereading a lot but my goal is 10 chapters a day. I’ve been slacking a little on my Psalm reading though 🤷‍♂️ BTW if you read 10 Chapters a day of the Bible you will finish it in about 4 months. 🔥

Chapter 1 Recap : How to Win Friends & Influence People
Chapter 1: “If You Want to Gather Honey, Don’t Kick Over the Beehive” Summary The first chapter lays the foundation for the entire book with one core principle: 👉 Don’t criticize, condemn, or complain. Dale Carnegie explains that criticism almost never works because it puts people on the defensive, wounds their pride, and creates resentment rather than change. Even when people are clearly wrong, criticism makes them justify themselves instead of reflect. Using examples like criminals who never see themselves as guilty and historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln, Carnegie shows that human beings are driven by pride, self-justification, and the desire to feel important. When attacked, they protect their self-image at all costs. The chapter teaches that if you truly want to influence people: - You must understand human nature - You must replace criticism with empathy, understanding, and grace - You must learn to see people as they see themselves This principle isn’t about being passive or dishonest—it’s about being wise. Lasting influence comes not from force or correction, but from understanding the heart. ⭐ Powerful Quotes from Chapter 1 - “Criticism is futile because it puts a person on the defensive.” - “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain—and most fools do.” - “Criticism wounds a person’s pride and arouses resentment.” - “Don’t criticize them; they are just what we would be under similar circumstances.” - “Instead of condemning people, let’s try to understand them.” - “Understanding breeds sympathy, tolerance, and kindness.”

Okay, now I must get the book. Thanks for sharing these nuggets of knowledge into understanding people. This part: “human beings are driven by pride, self-justification, and the desire to feel important.” and “Don’t criticize them; they are just what we would be under similar circumstances.” I am remindes of Ephesians 2:11-13 that once I was far from Christ, dishonest, self centered and self seeking, but for Christs blood shed on the cross; I would still be far away from him. I am getting the book. I may be slow in reading (due to class work) but I will tap in. Thanks for sharing Everett. 😔
Power Vs Authority
There are people that are extremely gifted, and they get frustrated that opportunities are not opening for them to use their gifts. Some people even leave churches or get attitudes because they feel like they are being overlooked. Authority is the Right to Excercise Power. The problem is from the Lord. God is the one who gives authority, God is also the one who gives gifts. But you must sow different seeds to receive authority vs receiving power. Power comes through pray and holiness. You can increase the measure and level of the gifts on your life through extended times of prayer but… Authority comes from heaven through Submission. You can be the most gifted person in a church but if you don’t sow submission, God will not lift you. This is the reason many people start their own Church. The person was gifted but couldn’t submit. So they create a church split or leave and you find 20 small churches in an area. All small, all with a genuinely gifted leader, but they never move higher because they are not under authority.
