Yesterday's doings
Yesterday evening I decided to sew these pencil pouches just to complete my day and feed my soul. I picked it from my cut and store container. The one zipper pull is on the wrong end. I always make such stupid mistakes.

@Christine Craythorne I was very busy Sunday, had lots of visitors. Roundabout seven the evening i decided to sew something just to feed my soul 😊 I picked two pencil pouches from my cut and store container and quickly sewed it up. When it was done my day felt completeπŸ₯° Will post pic now 🌷

@Tahnee Irving Wow! Tahnee, this is already looking so beautiful and it's not even done yet 😍
Device Cover, super easy, thank you Christine!
I couldn’t sleep last night, that Cape Town rain was a shocker, and to my surprise, the device cover I’ve been wanting to sew for over two years finally popped up on the app. I was so excited I even skipped church just to make this lol This was just a trial with scrap fabric, but once I add the batting and finish the real one, I’ll be back to show it off. Also, seriously, three young kids, pregnant with a fourth, and still posting tutorials and rocking that perfect nail in every video? Where do you even find the time for us? Thanks for the free content and endless motivation!!! You are truly my inspiration Christine ❀️

Completed Apron
I am so excited to share the end result of my "upcycled" apron. I tweaked the apron to be a bit more versatile for our specific needs. This is what I have changed: 1. I didn't use the elastic in the neckband because I didn't have enough and the shops are closed by the time I get home from work. 2. I made an unisex apron, so I left out the ruffle as it gives a feminine look and without it my husband can use it too. 3. I added a pocket only on the one side, then you have the option if it's needed and the beautiful pictures on the one side aren't hidden. 4. I improvised and added 2 "loops" on both sides of the apron. You can clip a lighter or bottle opener to the apron as well as slide a braai tong through the bigger loop.

This group is GROWING 🌱 A warm welcome + introduction!
Wow - the group has grown to over 120 members in just 30 days! I'd like to welcome everyone who has joined in these past few weeks πŸ€— Say hi below and tell us where you're from! I'm Christine and I LOVE SEWING! Some things you should know about me: - I never learned to sew as a child and thought sewing was LAME when I was a teenager even though my mom made tailored clothing and ball gowns. - I started sewing at the ripe ol' age of 27, and all I knew was what a bobbin is and that you have something called a seam-allowance. - I never attended a single sewing class...because they just didn't exist in my tiny town! - I spent MANY years fumbling my way through hundreds of patterns, tutorial videos and fabric that ended up in the bin... Of course I became obsessed with sewing, so I quit teaching Shakespeare to the rugby team and started teaching sewing! I knew there were other women who needed a different way of learning... Not the polished, highly edited style of YouTube influencers and pattern 'rat race' in the online sewing world. Real-time sewing classes that felt like a coffee and sewing date, and got you straight to sewing your first project. If you're new to sewing or trying to get back into it, I want to encourage you not to feel intimidated by all the content out there! Sewing is actually not that terrifying once you start, and you can't compare your beginner self with people who have been sewing since they were 9 years old. I don't believe beginners should be limited by 'beginner projects'. What you really need is just good instruction! The best thing you can do for your sewing THIS WEEKEND? Get your machine out, get it threaded and jump into your first project! You'll find all of that right here in this group β†’ the Sewing 101 course is the exact course I teach to absolute newbies. And if you have a different project lined up? Feel free to ask a question in the community! This group has all skill levels in it and so many enthusiastic women ready to help with their experienced advice!
