Very well put together.
Next PC Laptop for Pro Tools?
So, I am going to need to replace my everyday computer with the one I've been using for music production, which means I need to upgrade my music computer. Currently using a Dell Inspiron 15 w/1TB memory and 16gb RAM. Interface is an older Focusrite Scarlett. I've had minimal issues, but occasional freezeups. I'm looking at ASUS (Tuf, perhaps) and plan to bump up the RAM. My questions are: 1. How important is the model, and the processor? I read that Pro Tools does not support AMD processors, so will probably go with Intel. 2. How much difference would a desktop with the same specs make?

@Carolyn Rodea lol. Freezing the tracks converts them to printed wav files that are processed after your plugins. Then the plugins are made inactive saving you CPU processing power. Committing pretty much does the same thing except it creates replacement tracks with no plugins. The old tracks are hidden and made inactive. You can always delete a committed track and unhide and reactivate the original track to work more with it.

@Carolyn Rodea as a side note, if you are not using your system usage window I suggest that you do. It will show your cpu load and you will see it drop when you freeze a track with many plugins.
AI...
AI.... SOooooo.... thought I might throw out a 'controversial' topic.... what do peeps think of using AI generated parts in their music? Are you having success? Inspiration? I know I have been very pleasantly surprised in a variety of ways and would love to hear your experiences. :D

AI can mimic a soul but it does not have one and is not a musician. I’m old but the best music ever created was made in the last century. We still hear those songs everyday. Nothing artificial about it.

@Ari Tiainen it does matter. Music is art. AI is a copy.

Where is the option to choose: I just want to see how depressed I can get hearing the same song over and over again.
